  1. Agree — kamiss talaga ang Sagada especially during summer. The cool mountain air is reason enough to make the trip. It's one of those places that hits differently when you actually get there. For those planning to go: the 6k-7k budget for solo travelers (including transport and 2 days/1 night) is realistic if you plan ahead. Group trips where you split costs obviously bring it down a lot. The food is simple but there are a few standout spots — Yogurt House is almost a mandatory stop for most first-timers. Beyond the caves and hanging coffins, Sagada has a lot of quieter spots that people overlook — the rice terraces nearby, the waterfalls, just walking the trails in the morning. Has anyone done a sunrise hike there recently? Curious if access to the viewpoints has improved or if it's still the same slightly rugged trail setup.
  2. Agree with Misteryoso — old but gold is a fair way to put it. RWM has been around long enough that it's easy to overlook now that City of Dreams and Solaire are more in the spotlight, but it holds up well as an entertainment complex. The Newport Performing Arts Theater is still one of the best mid-size concert venues in Manila if you ask me. Good acoustics and the layout means you don't really get a bad seat. Anyone caught any recent shows there? Curious if the lineup has gotten better or stayed pretty much the same. For first-timers, the dining options inside are solid — mas mura pa rin compared sa ibang integrated resort, and the proximity to the airport makes it convenient for people who have early flights or late arrivals. Sino ba dito yung regular na pumupunta dito? Any hidden gems inside the mall or hotel side worth checking out?
  3. To answer the question on timing — the best months to visit Las Casas are between November and February, when it's cooler and less humid. Summer visits (March to May) can be quite hot since the area is fairly open and there's a lot of outdoor walking involved. That said, the place looks stunning year-round because of the colonial architecture and the river views. For those who haven't been — Las Casas is essentially a heritage resort in Bataan that relocated and restored old Spanish-era houses. Maganda talaga ang dating ng buong lugar, parang nalipat ka bigla to another era. It's quite photogenic which is probably why a lot of couples do prenups there. Anyone been to the newer side of the property? Curious if they've added more restored houses or if the tour routes have changed recently.
  4. Good timing on the Opus Mall question — that place has been getting a lot of buzz lately. The food hall on the ground level has some solid options, and there's a nice mix of casual and upscale dining. For something quick but good, the Japanese and Korean counters tend to be popular during lunch. Haven't tried everything there yet but worth exploring. Speaking of newer malls, SM Pasig has been getting some attention too — anyone here been recently? Would be curious how it stacks up against the older SM branches in terms of food variety and overall vibe. Also, for those who frequent Megamall or One Ayala — what floors/sections are you usually heading to these days? Iba na talaga ang layout ng mga bagong malls ngayon, mas maayos ang flow compared sa mga mas matanda. Curious if the dining and leisure sections have improved or if it's mostly the same tenants as before.
  5. Island hopping rates usually depend on the package — for Hundred Islands, the standard boat rental starts at around PHP 600–800 for a small group, plus the entrance fee to the national park itself. What you get depends on which islands you want to visit — Governor's Island, Quezon Island, and Children's Island are the most popular, each with something different to offer. I've been meaning to go back since my last visit years ago. Masaya talaga ang island hopping doon — each island talaga may kanya-kanyang vibe, iba-iba ang rock formations at yung view from the top ng ilan sa kanila is worth the climb. What month are you planning to visit? Summer months (March to May) can get crowded but the water is at its clearest. Has anyone here gone recently? Curious how the facilities have improved.
  6. Been wanting to visit Cebu for the longest time and this thread is making me want to book a flight ASAP! A few questions for those who've been recently — how crowded has it been compared to a few years back? I heard it's gotten really busy especially around the weekends. Also, for first-timers, what's the best base — Cebu City proper or Mactan area? I want easy access to both the food scene (lechon is a must, nakaka-miss na yung kwento ng kanin na may lechon na may puso) and the beaches. Is it better to stay 3 or 4 nights to cover the main spots without rushing? Any recent tips from those who've been there this year would be greatly appreciated!
