ashcanman
Radiohead of course... Thom Yorke is a genius but I feel Blur is gravely under-appreciated. Coldplay is too mopey and Oasis? well, Liam is an assh*le who can't write when sober... But if you ask me... The Smiths will blow them all away... (Did I just give away my age?) Quote Link to comment
mightbeyou
david bowie, radiohead, and oasis for me... Quote Link to comment

bods1000
Impossible to pick the best British band, and I hope the choices were not limited to those above. Veering dangerously, off-topic, I would pick the best UNKNOWN British bands, at least to me.My best are: MagazineWireKula ShakerSupergrass Quote Link to comment

the_passerby5981
Yung apat nag pagpipiliian, may kanya kanyang style at influence. Pero among the four, I'll pick Radiohead for having evolved with time and defined it too. Quote Link to comment

Redguard45
From the list above, it's easily Radiohead. But why is Led Zeppelin not on the list? Quote Link to comment
thonetteski
that's easy -- because those are 90's band Quote Link to comment
RED2018
OASIS They may not be original but what they have achieved is that they have successfully fused all the previous greats into one. Bits of the Beatles, bits of the Who, bits of the sex pistols and anyone else vaguely influential in british music history. they also saved british music for a while of being completely overcome by boy bands. Though they may not have been the first, they certainly rammed the door down for all other guitar bands at the time to get into 'club mainstream'. Really, were Blur going anywhere before Oasis came along? No, they were not. The music speaks for itself, first two albums of sheer genius and a collection which can stand proudly in any record collection. They truly encompass the sound of Britain. BEATLES Anyone that hasn't heard or appreciates them should be shot. They're simply legendary! Quote Link to comment
