sliderule
Once in a while, I get to see a well-restored Beetle on the road. Madami pa rin kasing pyesa na available. I've always dreamt of owning a Karmann Ghia. O kaya an Austin Mini (I almost did earlier this year). Oh yes - a Karmann Ghia. I find its design to be an acquired taste. I hated it the first time, but eventually it got more and more pleasing to the eye. In the 70s there would be issues of Road & Track featuring these mini sports cars. Along with the Karmann Ghia would be the Fiat X1/9, the MGB GT, the Porsche 914, the Triumph TR3. Timeless beauties.....dream classics to own now. The Karmann Ghia The MGB-GT The Porsche 914 The Fiat X1/9 The Triumph TR-6 I think the contemporary description used is "ASTIG!" Edited October 9, 2008 by sliderule Quote Link to comment
storm
Yung built in although more pleasing aesthetically, mahina ang buga ng lamig! Walang cellphone kaya hanap trenta sentimos at pulang telepono. Swerte kung gumagana. Tawag ka sa "haybols" ng barkada, hoping they would be there. Once in a while, I get to see a well-restored Beetle on the road. Madami pa rin kasing pyesa na available. I've always dreamt of owning a Karmann Ghia. O kaya an Austin Mini (I almost did earlier this year). When I was in college (engineering school), I had the chance to overhaul a 1300 VW Beetle engine. Just don't ask me to do it again. Baka lalo lang masira. Hahaha. May bigtime akong pinsan noon na bumili ng Eleanor na dilaw, because of Gone in 60 Seconds. Quote Link to comment

storm
Edited October 11, 2008 by storm Quote Link to comment

Bakit may white spots?
bods1000
Baste joined the NC in '69 and became contenders practically overnight. They won their first title in '73 behind a team led by Benjie Cleofas, younger brother of Joy Cleofas who played for Ateneo a few years earlier and later for Yco in the MICAA alongside my other favorites Freddie Webb and Mike Bilbao. In the 80's, the (Golden) Stags had a 5-peat at around the same time as UST (Glowing Goldies) was having their 4-peat. We call these the "Golden" years in collegiate basketball. thanks for refreshing my faulty memory, pare. Indeed those years were "Golden" but only to those who had the dynasty hehehe. Imagine a 5-peat. Can Ateneo or San Beda now be capable of such a feat? I think I had a glimpse of Bringas when I caught the tail end of Baste vs Letran game1 Jrs. indeed he is a behemoth and I think he is more than 6'6" pa yata! BUT, and this is a big but, he's as thin as a reed. A stiff wind would blow him over! Think of a local Manute Bol and that's it. With the prevalence of much beefier foreign players in both leagues, I doubt if this guy will be effective at least in his rookie year. He could be a Ballesteros in a few years though. Pareng Bods...long time no see! yeah pare we miss you. I thought you were still in HK. Yung sinasabi mong HMV dun, napuntahan namin nung May. Dami ngang DVD dun and catalogued pa according to Director! Say all works by Fellini sama sama then all works by Godard etc. Medyo steep nga lang price and hey wala akong nakitan Bullitt! The CD section there is to die for pero may kamahalan nga talaga compared to other CD outlets sa tabi-tabi dun... ...or maybe a Peter Aguilar, who at 6'9 started out also reedthin for Ateneo. Pero balita beefed-up na daw siya sa States......wish we can all get back together - Magaling, sbm, 16track, slide, storm, gadj hehehe Quote Link to comment
