gadalej
Napanood ko yang "in the realm of the senses" dati. Kakaiba rin. Iyan ba yung pinutulan ng etits yung kelot na ponjaps sa ending? yup! thats the one. the movie was done as a protest against film censorship. it pushed the bounderies of moralists perspective in cinema. nagisai oshima purposely shot an x rated film and showed that sex, when pushed to the limit, can be disgusting. i first saw this film in a script writing seminar in ricky lee's place. i think scorpio nights was based on this movie. it was a story of a bored wife who had a couple of days of decadent, obscene, sex with their boarder, searching for the ultimate orgasm. it even showed them dipping sushi in the woman's menstration. in the end, while the woman was riding the guy, she strangled him during orgasm and carved out his penis. i remember this movie was shown during the manila international film fest. it was said that there was already a long quie for tickets two hours before they started selling. and the audience was leaving barfing within 30 mins. only half of the audience managed to finish the film. balita ko, may lumabas na director's cut sa dvd a couple of years back. i'm still looking pare for a copy. hitman531ph
Remember the time when Marcos banned Voltes V and all other Japanese robot cartoons? Quote Link to comment
Gestanon
Ferdinand E. Marcos banned the showing of robot anime in the early 80s. I got an article from Time Magazine dated 1981 which featured Marcos banning the Japanese Robot animes. Quote Link to comment
robbietan
an article I read accuses an unnamed marcos crony wanting to sell a canned show to pinas tv. however, the show was a us flop, and here in the country, it would be pitted against voltes v. to make matters easy, the robot shows were banned and the next thing we knew is that chopper one has replaced the shows.
