juan_diego
da original is still da best sisig is still ..... trellis.yung iba, copycats nalang. lalo na yung mga tuna sisig, bangus sisig and what have you. kaya nga tinawag na sisig... dapat BABOY!!!!! if one would look up the history of sisig, it was originally composed of minced green mango and vinegar. generally, sisig meant anything chopped and sour meant for pregnant women in their first trimester of pregnancy. then, the pork sisig was introduced with the belief that the cartillage (from the pig's ears and cheeks) would actually make the bones of the baby in the womb stronger. Men would usually buy sisig for their wives but would end up eating it themselves while having beer. According to a legend, a female sisig vendor got fed up with this that she put siling labuyo with the sisig to teach the men a lesson, hoping that the spicy flavor would turn them off. However, what happened was the opposite. Well, the point is, anything chopped/minced and with a sour/tangy flavor can be called sisig. Quote Link to comment

Fahfrd
Hmm, I don't know if I've posted this before but there are two sisigs I particularly enjoy. One is the sisig in Tiananmen, where they use lechon meat. If you top this off with raw egg, which Chubby did one time, it becomes superb. ANother is the sisig of Cafe Lupe. It is white and creamy and tastes good too. Quote Link to comment
