agxo3
Temple of the Vestal Virgins in the Roman Forum. That's Palatine Hill (one of Rome's famous seven hills) in the background, and the ruins of the old Roman mansions from the days of Caesar. I studied Latinin high school and found that could still read some of the incriptions on the remains of the buildings. Edited June 29, 2004 by agxo3 Quote Link to comment
agxo3
Bodie is a ghost town in the high Sierras. It was once a huge mining town, producing silver and copper (and a small amount of gold). The last mine closed in 1932. The town is now inhabited only by the park rangers who care for the place. Quote Link to comment
agxo3
Much of Jerusalem is (literally) inside the city walls or beneath the surface......this is one of the bazaars that is completely inside and under the walls and the streets. Quote Link to comment
agxo3
On the way to Bodie on Highway 88, you cross over the Carson Pass and the Carson River. In the winter, it's REALLY cold. Taken at 6 am on a winter's morning. Not a lot of snow that year, but it was just as cold anyway! Quote Link to comment
