Giniling Festival, Delta Joy, The Brew, Death by Tampon, Chiaroscuro, Kiko Machine at marami pa... : UP Diliman based bands who do gigs from State U to Mayrics, Metro Manila and even out of towns. Too bad there's very little space for great talents here in the Philippines but eventually one or two of these bands will make it out big in the future. Pinapatay kasi ng foreign market ang music industry dito. If you hear about gigs kahit underground and you have the time manood kayo ng manood. the gigs don't ask that much for tickets pambawi lang yun ng mga organizers para makapagpatugtog ulit. it's hard to be a musician here so let's support them whenever we can.

 

Drama ko no? Frustrations and angsts of a muscian lang, pagpasensyahan nyo na.

explain ko lang...let's not blame the foreign market kaya d nag susuceed ang local band sa pinas.

 

madaming factors...una sa lahat PIRACY.ung mga compilation album,best of,hits ng kung anu-anong local band...sino ba bumibili non? d ba tayo-tayo din?

 

pangalawa....BARATAN system...too many bands accept LOW talent fees whenever they do a gig...kaya na tina-take advantage ng mga concert producers/promoters and whomever who is in power.some even insist that in order for a band to play a gig, they have to pay a certain amount--sometimes masyado malaki kaya na-EEXPLOIT ang mga baguhan na banda....kawawa naman.

 

same is true for musicians in the showband and barscene...madaming banda ang nagpapa-exploit sa mga bar managers para babaan ang "budget" nila....ang standard noong araw is 1k pataas per ulo....mga showband po to...so kung nakaka tugtog ka ng 5-7x a week...e di may 7k ka a week...then 28k a month...pede na d ba?

 

e may baguhan na for the sake lang na makatugtog ...tumatanggap ng 300 per head a night....example lang ...cowboy grill...

 

ang foreign market is not to blame....in fact sa foreign market nga...dahil sa metallica and nirvana...naging mainstream na ang rock or heavy music....dahil non nagkaroon ng band explosion nong late 80s early 90s...nagkaroon tuloy tayo ng the dawn,after image,identity crisis,introvoys,eraserheads,true faith...hanggang sa umabot na sa present generation.....

 

tama ka, dapat kang pagpasensyahan...dahil mukhang baguhan ka lang sa music scene....ang angst mo...iderkta mo sa mga gago na kapwa ipnoy natin na nang eexploit ng kawawang musikero.

 

DONT BUY PIRATED CDs .....ps,ps2 at dvd movies na lang hehehe
