Maria Angelita Ressa (Tagalog pronunciation: [ˈɾesa], born Maria Angelita Delfin Aycardo on October 2, 1963) is a Filipino-American journalist and author, the co-founder and CEO of Rappler,[1] and the first Filipino recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. She previously spent nearly two decades working as a lead investigative reporter in Southeast Asia for CNN.[2]

Ressa was included in Time's Person of the Year 2018 issue featuring a collection of journalists from around the world actively combating the phenomena of fake news. On February 13, 2019, she was arrested by Philippine authorities for cyberlibel due to accusations that Rappler published a false news story concerning businessman Wilfredo Keng. On June 15, 2020, a court in Manila found her guilty of cyberlibel[3][4] under the controversial Anti-Cybercrime law,[5][6] a move condemned by human rights groups and journalists as an attack on press freedom.[7][8][9] As she is a prominent critic of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, her arrest and conviction was seen by many in the opposition and the international community as a politically motivated act by Duterte's government.[10][11][12] Ressa is one of the 25 leading figures on the Information and Democracy Commission launched by Reporters Without Borders.[13] She was awarded the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize jointly with Dmitry Muratov for "their efforts to safeguard freedom of expression, which is a precondition for democracy and lasting peace.

Comrades aside from references on her cast iron stomach , her scrotum like complexion  ( imho nothing beats Thanos'es chin for amazing scrotum like appearance )

She is first and foremost a writer / journalist so she has expressed many a sentiment which I'm sure has dug deep and offended your sensibilities.

The Nobel Prize Awarding committee is nothing but stringent in the review of the backgrounds of their nominees to ensure that the award is given to people with exemplary character .

But all if not most of her published content has been critical of the Duterte and now Marcos administrations.

As her case proceeds posthaste , it is in dire contrast with another case

Imelda Marcos was convicted of graft 9 Nov 2018 by the Sandiganbayan . This was appealed by her lawyers to the SC a month after and she was granted bail and today walks free.

Fast forward tayo. Till this day there have been no reports on the Supreme Court’s proceedings and decision on her appeal.

If  Maria Ressa  is finally convicted by the SC which many expect to come with quicker resolution than most  , then why the delay in the Marcos case ? Surely plunder and corruption are  graver offenses . If there is one case we must focus on it is THIS .

Anyway food for thought comrades . 🙂

From the Idiot Marcosian: "The Nobel Prize Awarding committee is nothing but stringent in the review of the backgrounds of their nominees to ensure that the award is given to people with exemplary character ."

Grammatically and factually incorrect. One bad thing about being stupid is you don't get tired of it. Bad news for the coming 2028 elections.
