Duterte's Presidency : Expectations, Controversies, Rants, Etc.

Recommended Posts

Foreign intervention is either good or bad depending on our common interests with them.

Superpowers like USA, China, India, Japan, Russia interfere in our country’s political affairs to promote and protect their OWN self-interests.

USA interfered when they blocked the sale of firearms for PNP because of policy differences on our government’s anti-drug campaign. China and Russia countered by offering to supply the firearms to us at much better price and payment terms, with China recently donating 3,000 rifles and 3,000,000 rounds for free.

Canada interfered when they halted the sale of transport utility helicopters to Philippine Air Force because of their concern that we might use it outside humanitarian and disaster relief missions. Again China, Russia, Turkey, and South Korea stepped in to offer their helicopters, which encouraged the Philippine government to cancel the $233M deal ahead of Canada's announcement.

When US Ambassador Philip Goldberg made a report on how to oust Duterte through media propaganda and political pressure from Western governments, his secret report was leaked to Malacanang. Would you be surprised to learn that the leaked report were provided by the Chinese or Russian intelligence agency?

These things happen worldwide between countries. One superpower balances the other's interference with its own interference.

Foreign influence is one thing, but subservience to another country...?

Bakit pag Western countries bukas bibig ni Duterte puro mura, pag dating sa China "you must be meek and humble" daw.

Who is subservient to whom?

If a foreign country intervenes in our affairs and our President scolds them, what's wrong with that?

Wow. Amazing how dense someone can be. O sadyang nagmamaang maangan lang. Binaligtad yun situation, o.

Ayan na nga sa speech ni Duterte... to paraphrase “ be humble and meek towards China”. Hindi ba subservient yun? Eto pa: Nun sinabi nyang (not his exact words, but close to it) “we hope china will make us its province”. Tapos nun nalamang may missiles sa WPS: “Ok lang yun. It’s not aimed at us naman”. Then this “China will not allow me to be ousted”.

Our president should never scold America.

They are stronger than us.

We will never win in a war against them.

Our soldiers will all die.

Feeling ko, he’s actually a coward, eh. And I’m not just talking about vs China. Yun sabi nyang mag je jetski sya sa Phil rise tapos at the last minute nag back out is one sign of it.

Alam nya may tataguan sya kaya malakas ang loob nya pag mumurahin ang Western powers kasi alam nya geographically mas malayo sila sa atin, kaya sa China sya magpapa under.

Evident din itong cowardice nya sa ITC. Alam nya matatalo sya, so ang solution nya is to get out. Dinadahilan pa nya yun pino protekatahan lang nya kamo ang mga tauhan nya.

Tapos makikipag hamon sya lagi makipag barilan. Pero suntukan hindi Kasi alam nya hindi sya makakalamang doon.

Very true.

But check you facts. He did not scold America. He scolded Obama. And Trump and most of the Americans didn't mind it at all.

I doubt if you really know what cowardice is.

Leaders who have seen first hand the violence of war are the ones who try very hard to avoid entering into one.

You know who the soldiers think is a coward? Benigno Aquino III.

Maybe you should be the one to get your facts straight. Duterte scolded America many times. Balangiga Bells, human rights violations against blacks are some examples. Besides, when he cursed at Obama he might as well be cursing at the US also, because Obama represents the US. He is the one who implements America's policies. Had Duterte criticized Obama on a personal level, it would have been different but this was about US policies against human rights.

I think you are the one who doesn't know what cowardice is. Being a coward is doing nothing when someone is violating you.

Aquino is a transparent coward. Duterte hides it behind a facade.

And are you sure the President did not do anything?

I'll give you and example of cowardice. When the SAF 44 were being decimated, Abnoy did not do anything. In fact he gave the order to "Standdown" to the Army, Airforce and Marines who could have helped. That's cowardice and total ineptitude.

Yes I'm pretty sure he is not doing anything. He said so many times "now is not the right time".

Why do you keep changing the subject to Aquino? This thread is about Duterte's presidency NOT Pnoy's.
