SuperEight
Allopurinol is a good maintenance med for gout. But when you have an elevated gout, you have to stop taking this med cause it will exacerbate it even further. Quote Link to comment
plug
Yung pamangkin ko quite overweight pag sumumpong ang gout punta sa doctor para pagalitan lang dahil siguradong may nakain na bawal. Then na encouraged uminom ng pinagpakuluan na bignay leaves as his tea almost daily. Parang di na sumusumpong although iwas pa rin siya sa bawal na pagkain. Ang alam ko bignay leaves are good or cure sa urinary infection o kaya sa prostate problem. Quote Link to comment

Swatch
Lessen the pain and lower the uric type of management, but if you can avoid the risk factors much better. Quote Link to comment
Znyder25
If you already have high levels of uric acid after serum determination its better to stop consuming foods that are rich in purine to avoid gout flares. Example: Condiments like patis, toyo, gravy Vegetables like asparagus, mushroom, cauliflower and spinach. Beverages like wine, beer, soda, canned juices Red meat from lamb, pork and beef, animal innards Dont use "meat extracts" when cooking, a popular example is knorr pork/beef cubes. EKSWAISEE
For relief of pain and inflammation due to gouty athritis on the knees ,joints 2 tabs colchicine as initial dose 1 tab after and every 6-8 hrs Stop once diarrhea occurs. Can also apply hot and cold compress and hydrate with water. No high purine or sugary intake. - 1 tab Arcoxia 90mg or 120mg depending on level of pain Once pain and sweliing subsides, take allopurinol 1 tab daily or febuxostat 1 tab daily to control elevated UA levels in blood serum Quote Link to comment

Unfortunately, there are few *proven* natural remedies for gout except, as stated above, the known lifestyle changes typically recommended by doctors -- avoid purine-rich foods, regular exercise, lose weight, limit your alcohol intake, avoid drinks sweetened with fructose, and stay hydrated. Gout has been around for thousands of years. If there were any natural remedies that worked, then we would have known it by now. The fact of the matter is, the best evidence available points to the effectiveness of known medical treatments. Trying to find natural alternatives is fruitless at this juncture. Good luck!
