Iron Man: Shaun Toub is Mandarin?

Last month we reported that Shaun Toub had been cast in Iron Man. We've just been sent an exclusive but unconfirmed tip by an insider that Toub will play Gene Kahn aka Mandarin.

On July 22, 2006, Iron Man director Jon Favreau announced at Comic-Con that the Mandarin would be the main villain in the film.

The Mandarin made his Marvel Comics debut in February 1964 in Tales of Suspense #50. The character is one of the world's greatest scientific geniuses and a skilled martial artist. Seeking world domination, The Mandarin has no superhuman powers to speak of, he instead makes us of technology. Over the years, he would frequently attempt to turn various nations' weapons against them. His costume projects a powerful skin-tight force field. He can even split Iron Man's magnetic-beam reinforced alloy armor with repeated blows from his hands. He possesses ten rings of alien origin which grant him vast powers.

Note: We have no official confirmation on this, so for now, treat this as rumor. We're usually not a site to start rumors. In the past we've been very respectable and cynical when it comes to the unconfirmed. But this casting tidbit seems to gel. We'll see.

After the surgery, neural ophthalmologist Dr. Paul Faulkner (Alessandro Nivola) helps Sydney with the difficult adjustment, and with the support of her older sister Helen (Parker Posey), Sydney learns to see again.

But Sydney's happiness is short-lived as unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Are they a passing aftermath of her surgery, Sydney's mind adjusting to sight, a product of her imagination, or something horrifyingly real? As Sydney's family and friends begin to doubt her sanity, Sydney is soon convinced that her anonymous eye donor has somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see.

The Wolf of Wall Street:

Martin Scorsese will direct Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Wolf of Wall Street" based on the upcoming tell-all autobiography by Jordan Belfort. In the movie, DiCaprio would play Belfort, a Long Island penny stockbroker who served 20 months in prison for refusing to cooperate in a massive 1990s securities fraud case that involved widespread corruption on Wall Street and in the corporate banking world, including mob infiltration. He also said that Army will most likely use some of the techniques used to give 300 its spectacular visuals.

National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets

Signing on to play Nicolas Cage's mother, Emily Gates, is recent Oscar-winner Helen Mirren. She's there to help link Cage's Ben Gates to his family's connection to John Wilkes Booth and the mysterious Knights of the Gold Circle. Now we have our protagonists in Cage and Mirren but a movie is only as strong as its bad guy and Disney has managed to cast one of the best "bad guy" actors around: four time Oscar nominee Ed Harris. Harris will star as Jeb Wilkinson, who has some information about Gates' father and aligns himself as an ally. Returning to star in Secrets from the first film are Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha and Harvey Keitel. Disney has Book of Secrets scheduled for release on December 17th of this year.
