I know this may seem redundant but I will have to agree that you need to finish your studies first before even thinking of applying for a call center job...

 

First and foremost you'll be black-listed if you applied for a call center job and quit within 2 months... good luck in applying in a call center in a distant future...

 

If you really want to work during summer... I suggest you go for fast food... coz like what they said... training will take at least 1 month (accent reduction, business orientation, product training, etc.) and some call centers (i believe etelecare is one) have bonds to avoid this situation...

 

Overall... I dont think you need to rush things... wanting to prove to your parents that you can make it on your own is a lifelong struggle... so suck it up and finish your studies...

just a thought...I worked (well most of the time I was being trained) in a call center for exactly 2 months. Actually, 1 week lang ako regular sa floor then I went AWOL. The rest of the time was spent on training (accent, product etc.) Regarding the bond, truth is panakot lang ito. Signed a contract stating that I should work for at least 6 months or I get fined 30,000 pesos. Well, I checked my ATM a month after nag-AWOL ako and may nakapasok pang 2500 pesos.

However, I wouldn't advise going AWOL. Like most of the people here said, may danger na baka ma blacklist ka sa ibang CC. I worked in a big call center before and I wouldn't dare apply in one of the other big ones as well. But then again, maybe the blacklist thing is also "panakot"...

As for now, sa maliit na CC nalang ako mag-aaply...

as for being an undergrad....i'm a prime example. i went in because i really need the money for my daily sustainance. i walked up the ladder and now i am still in a call center...for Siemens...but i'm not an agent anymore. kanya-kanya lang naman e. pero syempre mas important ang studies but kung habol mo lang ang experience sa call center...you might regret it. kasi pwede naman maiwasan ang AWOL e. basta ba ang center walang bond or anything...madadaan naman sa usapan. may mga centers na kumukuha ng undergrads....ang requirements na nga lang ng iba basta may 2 year college at fluent sa English, pasok ka na. if you will continue your studies, naayos naman sa usapan ang schedule mo.

 

madami ka pwede masubukan...gusto mo i-try and SITEL sa Eastwood. wala silang bond. ang mga accounts ok naman...pinaka-mahaba na training ay 1 and half months...shortest 2 weeks. try mo lang.

Wow...you guys are so nice to help me out here. I don't really need the money...more of a want...

 

Ya know,just wanna have a solid "background" when I graduate college. I'm just keen on getting a feel of the "real" world where everyday is a struggle for survival... :)

 

 

hahaha...I'm not much of an achiever but I just want to be on a certain level of independence. I don't wanna get used to depending on my relatives too much coz that won't do me any good in the future.

 

 

Well,if you guys think that CC is not the best thing for me, then could you guys suggest any alternatives?(aside from workin in a fastfood chain coz I already did before in my aunt's J.bee branch in roosevelt ortigas)
