Vegasboy32
the challenge for the Spurs is to win a title without Duncan. they should get rid of their other old players and really re load their rosters with much younger players. Quote Link to comment
Guiness
Tim Duncan is spending his retirement in line at Old Navy Someone on Twitter claims to have seen Tim Duncan, the NBA’s recently retired fashion icon, waiting in line at Old Navy over the weekend. I say “claims” since it’s very possible that this person saw him at a different time but decided to tweet the picture on July 23. Because we’re talking about the internet here, aka “the world wide web of traps and lies.” But anyway, here’s Duncan looking at this phone while he patiently waits in line to purchase some shirts or pants or whatever else one buys at Old Navy but that are most likely on sale, because it’s Old Navy, and when was the last time you went to Old Navy and bought something that wasn’t on sale? It’s too perfect. It is too, too, too perfect. Where else did you think Tim Duncan would be shopping after retiring from a 19-year career as the best power forward to ever play the game of basketball? Giuseppe Zanotti? Ermenegildo Zegna? No. Get out of here with those fancy Italian brands. I don’t want your Valentino, your Ferragamo, your Versace. When you’re Tim Duncan, there’s only one place where you can buy clothes that makes you look this good… …and that place is Old Navy. And, while we always knew Duncan was a mensch, his waiting in line like a normal human is just added proof. Reason No. 1,223,984 that Tim Duncan is the best and we should all try to be more like/dress more like Tim Duncan. Quote Link to comment
Guiness
Report: Spurs agree to two-year deal with free agent forward David LeeBy Sean HighkinJul 28, 2016, 8:32 PM EDTOne of the last notable free agents on the market, veteran forward David Lee, has agreed to a two-year minimum deal with the Spurs, according to The Vertical‘s Shams Charania, who reports from agent Mark Bartelstein that he turned down bigger offers from other teams.Free agent forward David Lee has signed a two-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs, agent Mark Bartelstein told The Vertical. Lee will have a player option in the second year of his deal, which will be worth the veteran’s minimum. Lee, 33, considered more lucrative deals elsewhere, but committed to the Spurs’ opportunity to win a championship and play a backup role to LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol. General manager “R.C [buford] and coach [Gregg] Popovich put a lot of time and energy to give David a visual of how much they wanted him and would use him,” Bartelstein told The Vertical. “A lot of people talk about taking less money, and not many people do it, so the Spurs get a lot of credit for selling David on joining their organization.” After winning a championship with the Warriors in 2015, Lee was dealt to Boston last offseason, where he fell out of the rotation quickly. He was bought out midseason and signed with the Mavericks. He was solid in Dallas, but at his age and with almost no defensive ability, he didn’t draw much interest on the market. In San Antonio, he likely won’t have a big role, but he’s a solid veteran scorer in the frontcourt off the bench in limited minutes. Quote Link to comment
Guiness
Bleacher Report's Ric Bucher speculates the Spurs will target Stephen Curry in free agency By Jeff Garcia, Spurs Zone Tuesday, August 2nd 2016 File this under "No way this happens." Warriors' Stephen Curry will be a free agent next summer which will mean any and all teams will be putting their best foot forward and try to convince him he should sign with their team and leave Oakland. Enter Bleacher Reports' Ric Bucher who speculates the San Antonio Spurs will push hard for Curry to join them and their young stars Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge. Bucher, speaking on SiriusXM NBA Radio, opines that the Spurs present Curry with a better team and how Kevin Durant has taken away Curry's "super star space." He goes on to say the Spurs can tell him that Durant is his replacement and in San Antonio, he can thrive. Okay let's pump the brakes here Ric, As much as that might sound great having Steph in silver and black but no way Curry leaves Golden State. The Warriors as constructed right now, can win multiple titles, are younger and are not going through a transition phase like the Spurs from the post-Tim Duncan era. Add the fact Manu Ginobili will be calling it a career soon, the team has added more inexperienced players, it might take some time before the Spurs are back at the top of the NBA mountain. Moreover, Golden State will throw the bank at Curry. They can pay him more unlike the Spurs. And like Bucher said, everything depends on what happens next season. With Durant, it is very likely the Warriors will reclaim the title making it difficult for Curry to leave the franchise he won titles with. Sure, it is possible the Spurs will do their due diligence and try to persuade Curry to join them next offseason like they did this offseason with Durant. But the chances of Steph jumping ship to join the Spurs, their one of their main rivals in the West, is highly unlikely. Quote Link to comment
Kriliin
More power sa Spurs ngayon. Quote Link to comment

Eddy Syet
The Spurs should be in good hands with Gasol and Aldridge manning the paint. That's a potent twin tower combo who can deliver on both ends of the floor. Parker should still be the coach inside the court while the wings will be taken cared of by Green and Leonard. Kawhi will only get better this season. I believe that this will be a breakout year for him in terms of offense because his defense is already topnotch. It's just a matter of working on the chemistry and developing the young studs like Kyle Anderson. Quote Link to comment
