I think this should be added. well yes we should add durability post up - lebron??? really... bird is not merely a shooter he posts up pfs and sfs... he's a post up playerstrength - lebron??? really... during bird's time there was a no harm no foul.... badboys... no handcheck... plus bird guards centers and pfs... alberto_
how about adding the career averages on turnovers and personal fouls per game?? Quote Link to comment
dencio
well yes we should add durability post up - lebron??? really... bird is not merely a shooter he posts up pfs and sfs... he's a post up player >> Agree that Bird can play post up but only when needed. He played more on the perimeter - leaving the paint to Parish and McHale. During the latter part of his career, when he was ranged against quicker SFs, he played more PF on offense. strength - lebron??? really... during bird's time there was a no harm no foul.... badboys... no handcheck... plus bird guards centers and pfs... >> Well, if we are basing this skill on the era on which both of them played, then we really wouldn't know would we? It would also be easy to say that given Lebron's body (ala Karl Malone) he would have been able to impose his strength on other players in the 80s. I'm basing my reply on the physical evidence - Lebron has the bigger, more muscular body therefore it follows that he's the stronger player. Quote Link to comment

Even before Mchale would slide to center he would play pf or when Kleine was playing center and mchale was on the bench he would play pf.Lebron has no post up move. Bird has the baseline spin, the fadeaway, the drop step to the middle and a very efficient jump hook with either hand. Now can you compare whose post up is better? bird or james? Tim Bradley has a more muscular body than pacquiao. Why is it that pacquiao has a better KO percentage? pangit ng analogy ko hahahaha. What I mean is, I am basing the strength on how they played the game. Quote Link to comment

bill_262003
Aside from the Stat lines posted by the Thread starter, here's my opinion: Shooting: BirdBall Handling: LebronRebounding: BirdPassing (Not limited to assists): BirdSteals: EvenBlocks: EvenOff Ball Movement: BirdOn Ball Defense: LebronOff Ball Defense: BirdSlashing: LebronPost Up: BirdPhysicality: BirdStrength: Lebron Jumping: LebronDunking: Lebron Note: I separated Physicality from Strength. For me physicality is how rugged is your play and how much of your body are you willing to sacrifice to bang with other players. Strength is no doubt Lebron. But he is nowhere near Bird in terms of Physicality. At this stage of Lebron's career versus Bird, I vote for Bird. Now if you consider the other intangibles.... the voting would be more lopsided.
