99PercentCaffeine
I can never get past the 8th chapter of Bag of Bones by Stephen King and The Testament by John Grisham has been gather dust by my night stand. It has been nearly a decade (and hundreds of books read) since I picked up and started reading these two books but I cannot for the life of me seem to finish. The authors are certainly not at fault. I have read one or two Stephen King novels that really bore me to death and Bag of Bones definitely makes for an interesting novel. Same goes with The Testament. I plan to come back and finish what I started. Then again, I have found yet another book that I cannot seem to put down. Bad reader! Quote Link to comment

kimkinnison
A game of thrones. I couldn't get through the prologue because of how thick and forced the prose read. And to think Martin even claims to be a fan of Gene Wolfe. Quote Link to comment

bods1000
That John Waters is no unfinished business now. It is finis. But it seems a year later, my unfinished books have multiplied: Rise And k*ll First The Reproach of Hunger ...and that fearful doorstopper Black Lamb and Grey Falcon, by Rebecca West, which I havent returned to for years now. And yes, Don Quixote, the Edith Grossman translation, whose Part Two or Three I did not read anymore. And Asymmetry, by Lisa Halliday, which I discarded after less than ten pages. Henry Hitchings said: "An unfinished book is an accusation, staring at you menacingly". If this is the case, several books in my shelves are now throwing me dirty and dagger looks. Maybe this is the reason why I feel a sense of dread everytime I step into my small library. Quote Link to comment
