South China/West Philippine Sea

For Duterte and the DDS, the only way to solve this is either to let China do what it wants in the WPS freely... or go to war. For them, there's no middle ground (diplomacy).

...and regarding their silent protest? Is that like cursing under your breath?

Silent Protest? Cursing under your breath? You're clueless on diplomacy and bilateral relations.

Diplomatic Protest is a strong action when it comes to bilateral relationship between countries. It follows diplomatic protocol, giving notice of your complaint without harsh or angry words. It is a hundred times more effective in getting the other party to respond positively than staging a noisy rally outside the embassy.

So... are you saying Im right that the Duterte admin doesnt know anything about diplomacy? Because the examples below did not follow diplomatic protocol and they were given with he harshest words and with seething anger.

It follows diplomatic protocol, giving notice of your complaint without harsh or angry words.

duterte to obama: "p ina I will swear at you,"

duterte to UN special rapporteur Callamard T niya, sabihin mo. Huwag niya ako takutin. P- niya. G pala siya eh,

Pope --ina ka, umuwi ka na. Wag ka nang magbisita dito.

Ok, the last one wih the pope is still in the gray area since he was not even a president at the time. But still, it shows how his kind of diplomacy (or lack of it) works.

The Chinese are now building a full military facility within our property. I know the Jetski is a just a joke but this isnt what i was expecting. This is our property.

The contested area IS NOT our property. Not yet.

We claim it as our Exclusive Economic Zone. We're supposed to have exclusive rights in exploiting the area for economic purposes, according to UNCLOS. But neither China nor USA is signatory to it.

Moreover, we have overlapping claims with our neighboring countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan and China.

China is not even considering the contested areas as their EEZ. They have redrawn their borders and claim that the entire South China Sea is their Sovereign Territory.

Until we have settled the ovelapping issues, diplomatically or militarily, with our contesting neighbors, it's just empty words to say that it is our property.

Let's build our military capability to defend our sovereignty. Only then can we replace empty words with real muscle.

Sad to say kahit anong gawin natin di na yan mababawi.

What we need to do is be steadfast in our sovereignty claim. We have legal basis based on UNCLOS agreement.

We have the Arbitral Court ruling in our favor. The only problem at present is that we are not yet strong enough to enforce it.

So in the meantime, we take the pragmatic approach. We use diplomacy, friendly foreign relations, and spirit of cooperation and sharing.

At the same time we continue to build our strength to stand up on our own.

We should rely on the USA or our neighbors to protect out own interest and sovereignty.
