South China/West Philippine Sea

Recommended Posts

if this is chess, we already lose the war since our honorable senate ejected the US bases. Chinese are quick to position themselves strategically, and I doubt if portion of US forces can even help us with this issue. the only thing left for us is the UNCLOS.

You really think we should leave it to the US to fight for our sovereignty?

The US bases were still here when the Chinese started encroaching into our shoals and sand banks. They did not do anything.

Nagrally na ba sa tapat ng chinese embassy ang akbayan, bayan, lfs at kmu to protest yung breach in sovereignty tulad ng ginagawa nila pag me westerner allegedly incursion sa pinas?

I don't understand your logic. Does akbayan, et. al. have anything to do with this?

Did the Americans in Clark Air Base and Subic Naval Base do anything when the Chinese People's Liberation Army constructed their illegal structures in the Spratlys? No, they didn't do anything.

Don't expect them to. It's not their job. It's ours.

Don't expect foreigners to protect your sovereignty.

Dapat dyan, may kumompronta.

If the Arbitral Tribunal rules in our favor, then the international community will support us.

The Chinese will be politically isolated if they do not heed the Tribunal's ruling. Also, our ASEAN neighbors, Japan, and the US will have the valid political reason to openly support our struggle against the Chinese encroachment.

Nevertheless, it is still our responsibility to do the dirty job of expelling the Chinese out of our shoals. I'm sure our AFP has plans for that.

You do not need to understand my logic... it is a simple question answerable by yes or no... btw akbayan et al is not a foreign entity.. sila palagi yung nagrarally at nagsasabing nag breach ng sovereignty ang US sa Pinas....

We should have enough national pride and dignity to be willing to fight for our sovereignty against the Chinese. Even if the odds are overwhelmingly against us.

Vietnam showed how when they harassed the Chinese oil rig and its naval escort ships more than a thousand times, using hundreds of unarmed civilian boats. It went on relentlessly until the Chinese realized the foolishness of their show of force in bringing their oil rig into the Paracels.

Moral of the story:

We can always wipe out a puny little hornet's nest, but it will not stop them from stinging us in droves if we disturb their home. And that is why we leave them alone.

That means, once the Arbitral court's decision is given, that's the only time we can resume development projects?

In the meantime, the Chinese artificial island in recto reef is growing faster than ever.

It might be too late for us when the time comes.

Yup... Actually AFP atat na atat na ipa-ayos yung runway natin dun and to put up a berth for a PCG or BFAR Vessel... Kaso with re to this issue, Albert Del Rosario and his DFA Peeps are the ones calling the shots... Kahit wala na si ADR sa DFA, eh ilang buwan na lang, hindi na din tayo makaka-kilos due to the upcoming Presidential Elections...

Pa-consuelo na lang ni Abnoy sa Philippine Navy are the ff:

3 used Hamilton Class Cutters from the US (they were given to us for free except for the refurbishment costs of 10 and 15 Million USD which is cheap considering a brand new Hamilton at today's prices is around 200 Mil USD, the 3rd Hamilton hindi pa natin alam kung magkano magagastos.)

1 used Research Vessel, the Melville (donated din. Yung 3rd Hamilton natin saka Melville yung sinabi ni Pareng Barrack last November)

5 used Balikpapan Class Landing Craft Heavy (2 donated by the Aussies while 3 were sold to us at a Friendship price of Php270Mil)

1 used Landing Craft Utility from the South Kimchi Eaters (donasyon ulit)

3 Brand New Multi Purpose Attack Crafts

2 Brand New Strategic Sealift Vessels, BRP Tarlac darating na dito by May in time for the Navy Anniversary (i'm gonna bet kung sino manalo presidente sa hometown nya ipapangalan ng Navy yung 2nd SSV... i.e. BRP Davao City, BRP Makati, BRP Capiz or BRP America... Joke! :) )

3 Brand New AW-109 Power Helicopters (Unarmed, for utility, SAR and training purposes)

2 Brand New AW-109 Power Helicopters (Armed with machine guns and guided rockets to support Philippine Marine and Navy Ops na bakbakan.)
