RED2018
We got the No.1 in our Group, Qatar has beaten Taipei by 3 pts. Thus, we avoided an early clash with Iran (the best scenario for us, may halong swerte tayo!) But we still have to beat Hongkong tonight, and Kazakstan next. We might face China or Taipei in the semis. (at least better than facing Iran) Quote Link to comment

fatchubs
prayers answered when Qatar won over TAipei. Now Gilas should ensure that they win the game vs Hong Kong. Nasa Diyos ang awa nasa tao ang gawa ... Quote Link to comment
junix
this is good news for us...now it's time for gilas-pilipinas to do their job. i'm sure that with this development, gilas-pilipinas will come out of the starting block with all guns blazing against hongkong. di na nila palalampasin ito. they'll surely go for no. 1. LABAN PILIPINAS!!! Edited August 7, 2013 by junix Quote Link to comment
OrangeNLemons
Philippines now need to take care of the small fry HK to finalize their top seeding. Coach Chot might opt not to play injured players Marcus Douthit and De Ocampo or even Jayson Castro. Expect Gary "El Granada" David to explode tonight. He'll probably log heavy minutes and Coach Chot will give the him green light to shoot all night long, just as long as the team never falter on their defensive intensity and control the boards. It's imperative that David fully gets his confidence back in preparation for who ever they face in the next round.*Off topic: Taipei might have tank its last game against Qatar. Taipei is more familiar with China and their style of basketball compared to Kazakhstan. They might have figured that will all their injuries, China is most vulnerable right now. Add to that the political history between the 2 nation and you have an intriguing matchup in the next round. Btw, In case the Philippines takes on China in next or later rounds, pinoy fans might chant , "Spratlys, Spratlys" hahaha... Quote Link to comment

It should have been "we might face Qatar or Korea in the semis, should we get past Kazakstan" Quote Link to comment

ray004
just got home from watching the game live. i pity Gary David. he was so dejected when he sat on the bench. the slump is really getting into his head.. Quote Link to comment
animus
Gilas Pilipinas: This is gonna be a walk in the park.Hong Kong: We Douthit! The team played badly tonight getting beat up specially on the rebounding department. Less ball rotation and more on individual plays. No killer instinct at all. But nevertheless, a win is a win. As for the quarterfinals, Kazakhstan is a very dangerous team. They almost beat Gilas during their exhibition game last month. Pero mas ok na silang kalaban kesa sa China. A much easier trip to the finals. Thank you Qatar! Haha! Laban Pilipinas!! Quote Link to comment
