I am thinking of buying a wireless printer. An HP or a Dell. Any comments? Experience?

I just saw a Brother brand 6 in one: Scanner, fax, printer, fax data, phone, answering machine. It can be connected to a wired or wireless router.

I saw it in Octagon in Park Square Makati, cost:14,500.

both are ok, but imho, you dont need a printer with wireless capability.

just get a printer with a built in NIC, plug it into a wireless router and do a network printing from a laptop.

Alternatively, you can get a wireless/wired print server. Its a switch-like appliance that you connect your printer to - and connect it to your existing network. With the way printers are made these days (disposable?), you don't need to spend so much for a printer with network capabilities. Using Netgear's WGPS606 wireless print server at the office and have an Epson R230 and Epson 890 connected at the same time. Works fine.

I agree, the best thing to do is to purchase a wired/wireless print servers. If you don't want messy cablings at your office or house and you think you have good signal on your AP then you go wireless. If there's a problem with your wireless connection (slow/intermittent/no signal) then connect the print server wired to your router where connection is faster (in comparison with 802.11 b or g). In worst case scenario the print server failed , connect the printer at your computer.

 

Actually you have a lot of options, but print servers are not that buggy or faulty , setting it up on your network makes printing easier.

My brother with ADF is still ok. Just make sure it's the model that can accept CIS in the future.

 

My older brother which uses CIS is still chugging along very well despite its age and abuse.

Hey guys we know we have wireless internet and bluetooth but what about portable printers? Anyone know if any printer companies are making small printers that maybe be battery operated? I think that would be great to have a battery operated bluetooth printer or something. Would be great for me in school in case I have to print something very last minute. Or a road trip? Are some already out that I just dont know about?

better go to the manufacturer's website. kadalasan meron sila guide sa pag set-up. try mo muna wired connection with 1 pc muna, set mo sa static yung ip ng printer at mag print ka ng test page. kung may kasama na installer yung printer mo baka meron sya guide for wired connection.
