hindi naman kasalanan lahat ni jong, it's about the numbers, you only have 240 minutes (per game) to distribute among 12 players, and realistically only 60 minutes (per game) of playing time for 7 players (after the 1st five plays 3 quarters per player), eh sa dami ng good (but not great) players ng ginebra, hirap sa rotation. or maybe dahil limited ang minutes kaya ang good players hindi maging great?

hindi naman dahil maraming good players ang bgk ay reason na para sabihin nahihirapan sila sa rotation. dahil sa coach' strategy parin ito.. remember, the 4 teams playing in the semis has atleast 9 or 10 good players, pero nagagawa parin ng coaches na magrotate ng players to contribute to the team. it's not about having few good players, it's about having few good guards sharing the playing minutes, while having limited big men.. and having a coach so obsessed in having so much guards in their line up that they are willing to let go of their big men.

also, hindi naman siguro kasalanan ni jong ang lineup -- i would think it's the team manager who thinks up the deals that are made. siguro ang pagkakamali nga ni jong is guard-dominated ang teams niya and kulang nga siya ng bigs, pero i had the idea that this was a result of some management decisions, hindi sa coach. and by management, i mean san miguel corp, to improve their 4 teams?

bugia, ferriols, cabatu, mamaril, se...players, to name a few, who were either benched by jong or not given the opportunity to shine. i'd hate to see that day when even the talent of wilson will be put to waste. tingin ko lang, kung si big j ang humawak dito sa kings, malamang napakinabangan itong mga to. what a waste of talents.

i agree because as the coach, jong must also have to be consulted and tell management what kind of team he wants and the players on his team. as far as management is concerned, it can only make the deals after consultation with the coaching staff. i don't think management will do it on its own.

when jong was still a player, i assume he played the guard position? hehehe

weird nga na they have 4 players who are physically similar to each other and have the same game (jayjayhelt, miller, caguioa, cortez), baka parang tryouts ang season na ito to see who gets cut/traded? caguioa & jayjay are getting injured a lot so i'm thinking sila ang out, pero in terms of fan support sila ang identified na true gins eh, unlike miller who's still identified as an alaska ace and cortez who is identified as just a mercenary.

this has not always been the case sir..remember when the management tampered with bgk staff back when jaworski was at helm. the Big J took a leave of absence and when he came back, there were new faces at the bench. the management did that without consulting jaworski hence the fallout between Jawo and the SMC management.

I believe that with this line-up and with Sonny J as coach, Ginebra can establish a dynasty. If he led a ragtag unit of the Loyzaga brothers, Ampalayo, Gonzalgo to an All-Filipino championship vs. a powerhouse Purefoods team of Codinera, Captain Lionheart and Jolas in the 1988 All-Filipino Conference, I don't see why Ginebra couldn't establish a dynasty with its current line-up.

If management is the one calling the shots when it comes to players changes, why is Jong still coaching Ginebra? Dapat lumayas na siya kasi hindi na siya pinapankinggan, just like na ginawa ni Jawo. The only team I know that does not consult its coach was the then Red Bull kaya nag resign si Yeng Absentee Guiao. Ang pagkakaiba lang, wala na talaga pera ang Red Bull nuon kaya pinamimigay nila, in exchange for monetary consideration, yung mga star players ng team.

 FYI, the Big J only won the all filipino title once and its was with a powerhouse but rookie laden team they beat. Purefood may have lost due to inexperience.

Bottomline he won once and we're talking about building a dynasty here? Good luck!

Problem I see about the Gin Kings is that the weakness is not on the guards but the bigs who are either aging, inconsistent or injured. Sad to say instead of improving on this aspect, they continously try to trade for guards.

But I think Miller contract is expiring and I do hope he would just be traded to get an able big.

Guys I know na mahal natin ang barangay kaya ganito tau mag react but come to think of this. SMB was loaded with an all star cast since 2008 and other teams are scared because of their line up but what happened? my point is before we keep blaming coach jong, caguioa, miller, JJ, or BGK management. We should look after progress. SMB took two years before nila na harvest ung line up nila..sinisisi rin si Siot during that time pero kung titignan mo nga sila ngaun, mas malakas ang locals ng barangay. kaya lang sila mataas coz they got an energetic Freeman.

Put a slasher forward sa # 3 spot (Intal, salvacion, ferriols at kahit si homer se) coz this guyz can really break the zone at masisipag ito sa rebound. Kung kukunin nila si marlou, I think may laro pa sya kaya lang naging batugan sya sa sta.lucia ( and I want to see him redeemed his self like Paras did before he left shell, after 10 years nag MVP sya ulit) sa barngay mapupursige si marlou.

When i went to Cebu for a business trip, i was surprised to see that my seatmate was Celino Cruz (whose wife is based in Cebu). He was to visit his wife who gave birth and Ginebra was only scheduled to play an exhibition game that week.

He said that with the addition of Cortez and Miller, he was relegated from the starting (when JJ was injured) guard to the 4th or 5th string PG (behind JJ, Miller, Cortez, or White).

He has no complaints but he really does want to play and contribute to the team
