Jongkers
ajb bro, ginugulpi na ako ni SD24 e.Tas leading pa si consig! Go, TFE! how come valverde didnt get a save ...score was 7-4 with 2 men on base .... Because it was 7-3 when he came in at the bottom of the ninth. He gave up a run kaya naging 7-4.I think. agentjackbauer
DH, I think Jog is correct. It was 7-3 when he came on for the 9th and he allowed a run which made it 7-4 Quote Link to comment
gift_of_game
wala na ba tayong "deadline deals"? Quote Link to comment
Jongkers
Four game days, three closers... walang save opp man lang. -------------- Edit:Now it's Rodney's turn again to close the game.Ang gulo na ha? Edited August 8, 2008 by Jongkers Quote Link to comment
gift_of_game
Four game days, three closers... walang save opp man lang. precisely why I don't believe in "saves"...which is also why I haven't won anything in MTC fantasy baseball. hehe! Quote Link to comment
Jongkers
precisely why I don't believe in "saves"...which is also why I haven't won anything in MTC fantasy baseball. hehe! The thing with having good closers is it is NOT a one-stat category.Punting saves does not mean one is giving up only one category.Aside from Saves which you could only get from the closers, one can also benefit in W, ERA, WHIP and BB/9 if you have good closers. To offset the sometimes erratic starts by the SPs. But what do I know?I have three closers and my pitching cats this week are rock-bottom. Quote Link to comment
kingsville
:hypocritesmiley: but you're already pulled a lot of rugs, more than I do.I just started.. while you're in the "climax" of your improbable comeback! Jongkers
But right now, I'm rooting for either bubuy or ajb for the 6th spot.If I do end up at #2, I don't want to face any of these in the 2nd round: TFE, d-head or anki. Besides, d-head and anki have a chance of knocking off #1 SD24. :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment
agentjackbauer
Loney, Frenchie plus a pick for Big Tex? :hypocritesmiley: wala na ba tayong "deadline deals"? Quote Link to comment
gift_of_game
^well, if anything, my strategy has been consistent: if it's a choice between a good bat and a closer, bat it is and always. so anytime anyone offers up Ichiro for Lidge, I'll definitely go for Ichiro, no questions asked at all. but that's just me of course. the peripheral pitching stats that you can get from closers, yeah, that's nice too but they aren't really the only guys who can give you that. it doesn't even mean that you can rely on them to give you the numbers consistently enough because after a certain the tier of studs and old reliables, everyone else is pedestrian at best.
