hammer87
I need help in Powerpoint... 1. How do I convert my powerpoint presentation into something like an .exe file wherein you just click the file and the presentation runs? I get emails wherein I no longer have to open the powerpoint application and just click on the file and the presentation runs. How do I do that? 2. If my presentation has music inserted, how do I also include the music when it is converted into a presentation file? Quote Link to comment

Its a third party software. I really don't know if those softwares that you can download can do that stuff completely. on your second question, please follow the procedures below. However, doing so will also increase the total file size of your eventual power point file. So I suggest you to convert the music file into a lower bitrate for a smaller file size. Also, power point only accept *.wav files so you will have to save it as a *.wav file. 1. Open up power point. Any version will work because it's the standard procedure. However I'm talking about Microsoft Power Point only and not OpenOffice or any other office software alternatives. 2. Click "Slide Show" for a drop down menu. 3. Click "Slide Transition". This is the place where you put all your slide animations when transitioning to the next slide. Notice that there is also an option where you can place a sound. Refer to next point. 4. Search for an option that allows you to place a sound. Scroll to the last option in the drop down menu to browse for your own sounds. Note that power point only accept *.wav sound files as background music. You have have to convert to *.wav in a lower bitrate. 5. In the first slide you place a sound, after transitioning to the next slide the sound will not stop playing until you place a new sound in a new slide. So if you want your background music to play through the entire presentation without stopping, simply add the sound in the first slide and none for the rest of the slides. Quote Link to comment

You did not say if your presentation will be a self-runnig 'kiosk-style' presentation or whether it will require a warm body presentor. If you want it to be self-running, you can preset the slide timing and transition timing in your powerpoint and then save it as a movie. If you have background music to use and this is not in wav format, you can still use it by opening it in the 'movie options' dialogue box when you 'make movie'. If you have some slide-specific audio and you want to make the presentation a movie you will have to convert the audio to wav first before you use it so that powerpoint can embed the audio on the right slide point. Once you have saved you presentation as a movie--whatever format that may be (.mov [quicktime], or .wmv) it does not matter, most computers would already have the software preinstalled in their systems to be able to run it. To answer your first question, after you have edited, formatted your presentation, Click File, then Save As, put the appropriate filename then toggle the Save as Type, select PPS (powerpoint show) Then Click OK. This will enable your presentation to play without opening the PowerPoint Application. HTH Quote Link to comment

How do I convert my powerpoint presentation into something like an .exe file wherein you just click the file and the presentation runs? I get emails wherein I no longer have to open the powerpoint application and just click on the file and the presentation runs. How do I do that? Technically, u don't need an extra software if u want ur presentation to automatically run when it is clicked upon. U just need to rename ur presentation to .pps instead of .ppt (e.g. when you save your presentation as "my_project.ppt", you just save it a "my_project.pps"). You will notice that it's icon will become different than a usual powerpoint icon, but when u click upon it, the program (MS Powerpoint or MS Powerpoint Viewer) will automatically run the presentation. But if what you want is for your powerpoint presentation to be viewed like a movie in a media player, what you need then is a software that converts your presentation into media like powerpoint to avi... Maykeee
If you want to convert your presentation to multiple forms, you can use MINDMAPPER, better if you use the paid version Quote Link to comment
