sk3rmo
i have an acer aspire one 8gb ssd linux. Been using it for about 3 months now. I use it mainly for internet (so many free wifi hotspots now) and basic documents. For my use i never regretted getting the aa1. its small size is its best feature. I can even fit it inside my small Tumi slingbag whenever i go malling. Battery life is a bit short at about 2 1/2 hours with wifi on but then again i can finish my coffee in about 30mins so what the heck =) i can't recommend this for those who will make this as their primary pc (no optical drive). But then think about how many times do you really get to use the optical drives? I have a toshiba laptop and i probably used its combo drive about ten times since i got it about 2 years ago. Having a netbook is great. Countless stares from hot chicks sitting around me at my favorite coffeeshop. But the ultimate test is if i can get to pick up a girl with it!!! Will keep you guys posted =) Quote Link to comment
wraith2
Me too, got an acer aspire one for a toy/secondary laptop. Great little computer. Sometimes I bring it with me outside to k*ll time while waiting to fetch my gf. Changed it to XP and did some SSD-optimized tweaks. Works great!! Quote Link to comment

johnlove
Most mini laptops comes with xp because they aren't powerful enough to run vista properly. Quote Link to comment
djrs
MSI wind is cheaper or the Averatec (MSI WIND) pero depende naman yan. looks nalang ang titignan nyo kasi pareho lang atom yang mga netbooks na yan. Quote Link to comment

Google
cos that's all my dad can afford. but im not sure what exact type he'll get and how big the memory is. we need to fit in the STAAD program too. thanks. you would be better off in getting a bigger second hand laptop, or a brand new desktop computer, imho considering the budget and requirements. Google
Guys ideal ba bumili ng sony vaio? yup... mataas ang resale value nyan maski luma.ang only hassle lang nya is if it requires repairs, a local sony service center does not service them. they are still shipped to singapore. EdVillarin
I saw that in Robinsons Galleria, Asus.. asus talaga dahil ang liit compact, pero yung pang luho na lang! Luxury Laptop tawag ko jan dahil as much as P23,000 may mabibili kang Packard Bell Intel Celeron 440 at 1.86Ghz, 1GB Ram Model: Easynote fO336-V-O89, 80GB Hardisk,Ati Radeon 256mb Video Card Memory, DVD writer, Wifi Ready. Para saken mas reasonable at affordable ito.. ang downside lang neto ay 1hour lang a battery usage kahit full charge sya. Kailangan mo pang i-repack yung battery nya para tumagal ng 4hours tulad ng NEC old model Laptops. Quote Link to comment

johnlove
Last month, I was able to test 2 redfox laptops with the same specifications - 10 inch screens, 1 gig memory, atom processor n270, factory installed win xp home, etc . . . Well the 2 units are very different:Laptop A - bought early December, very nice, wifi automatically search for signals, hard drive is formatted into 2 drives(drive c - program, drive d - data)Laptop B - bought late December, total crap, wifi have to be manually configured, hard drive is formatted into 1 drive only. Sayang . . . I planned to buy one but I am turned off the the inconsistencies in quality. Edited March 22, 2009 by johnlove Quote Link to comment
