Ultimately, I think, it depends on the company you have at the time. Some people just don't have the same interests as you and some discussion points are just too mundane or irrelevant to you personally. Quote Link to comment

I get too exhausted within a very big group, I'd rather talk to small group and see if we have anything in common. Even in the office, I try to avoid having one as much as possible because I'm scared that the conversation would become awkward and boring. Although, I admire people who are very good at this.
