tnx! i got ur points! if japan bikes, like yamaha or honda? which is better? ang pinaka ain factor tlg sa ag pili ko ay engine sound and proma. ung speed ay next lng.tnx! and can u give me some price range and if its second hand or not. san nakakbli o pwd tumingin ng brand new japanese big bikes? tnx

your right yellowferoza, ducati monster can shell you out a minimum of 200k++ for a 98 duc 400 monster and up to 700++ for a 2007 model duc s4rs(900cc). for the provinces??? hmm bakit hindi.. but please keep in mind that you have to maintain the bike and yes tama po si yelloferoza that u will spend 3-10k per period including tune-up,change oil, etc. (may chain pa yan,bearings, clutch disk that can go as high as 7k per set). Yes, super 4's are now so in demand bec of reliabilty and easy to use and maintain.. it can go to a 100k to newer model for 500k (super 4 big1, type s, type r, spec 1,2,3 nd hyper vtecs.)

About the sounds of motorstar Z200/Z250 wag mo ng asahang tutunog sya like "big bikes" bec it only have 1 cylinder and most big bike have 4 cylinders so malaking deperensya. Pero in terms of maintenance and looks ok na motorstar tipid sa gas and easy to modify and maintain. But, if your a begginer with bikes/big bikes stick to smaller displacements first then upgrade if you have enough experience para di nman masayang bike pag na spill. But still you have all the decision if you are going to buy a 400cc up bike. Always remember to be safe and drive defensively and offensively. Hope this helps. Ride Safe and Happy hunting.

If engine sound and 'porma' is on your priority list, I would suggest of not gettiing an UB. Though it is the most practical nowadays; easy maintenance, low gas consumption, reliability, etc...

 

Getting a jap 250 or higher will meet your expectations, and maybe surpass them. But expect to pay 4X in maintenance.

 

Try browsing at the MCP classifieds http://motorcyclephilippines.com/classifieds

 

Maybe a Honda Steed 400 or a Yamaha Shadow 400 would suit you. V-twin engine, open pipes, cruiser style, easy handling, and has a ticket to pass the highways.

 

Get a bike that will suit your needs. Consider also the image you would like to project.

who among you have tried going up to baguio on your bikes? I have already attempted and succeeded in riding my XRM 110 up and down baguio but I still need help. sanay ako sa kotse pagakyat at baba ng baguio.

 

problem ko ay sa curves. saan ba ako pwepwesto on a two-way highway specifically sa curves? malakas ang hatak ng UB xrm ko sa paakyat but problem ko lang talaga sa curves. dito ko nakita (and naramdaman) ang advantage ng motor in terms of acceleration as compared to automobiles. feeling ko kasi nasasayang ang acceleration ko because of my slow curve turns.

First thing is -STAY ON YOUR LANE

 

If you have watched bike racing, they tilt their bikes towards the curve they're attacking because bikes cannot take turns straight up will engaging a curve. When a curve approaches, take the outside lane (on your lane, and not occupying the other) and go to the inside of the apex, then exit towards the outside of the curve. This takes lots of practice. And I'm not suggesting that you make the streets your personal racetrack.

 

It is highly suggested that you upgrade your stock tires to 'branded' ones like (in XRMs case) Dunlop TT/TL 900s, Bridgstone, Pirelli, etc as it will provide more traction than studded stock tires.

 

Note also that you might overshoot a curve and fall on the cliff! This is caused by improper or excessive speed going into the curve.

 

Ok na yung mabagal for me. It is the joy of riding 2 wheels that makes me get the bike keys.

 

Wear proper gear!

oh god buti na lang tinanong ko yan. ang ginagawa ko pala ay reverse, taking the inside lane and then exiting the curve via the outside of the apex. I was trying to imagine your description and what I was doing when in a curve. now that I think about it, oo nga ano most likely akong titilapon sa ginagawa ko. hmm.. better change my tires then (naka dunlop 80-80 ako).

and attacking the curve from the inside will make you more vulnerable to crash head-on with an incoming vehicle from the opposite side when exiting the curve.

when I went up baguio ang ginagawa ko kasi ay to rev the motor high during the straight-ways kaya ang tendency ng pagpasok ng curve ay sa inside because entry ko is in a straight line. mali pala. hmm.. malakas ang brakes ng motorcycle but delikado ang engine brake sa motorcycle because parang pinapako ako sa daan, instant stop kumbaga. i guess almost the same principle sa car wherein you should climb the mountain in low gear. problem ko lang talaga is those darn curves.. takot kasi ako to lean my bike to compensate for the inertia.

 

sa may pugo-rosario na lang ako magpractice ng curves, meron dun three curves which are almost 360 degrees ang ikot. I'm in the provinces right now, masyadong malayo ang marilaque dyan sa manila eh.

 

pinakamalayong nabyahe ko so far ay manila to ilocos via McArthur Highway. dyahe, ang pangit ng riding conditions sa mcarthur highway, pinakamagandang daan ay sa ilocos :P

 

nga pala, I found that the reflectors on the road is very hazardous for riders. tindi ng timing and concentration just to avoid it. dyan sa manila bihira ang mga eto but here sa province rampant siya.

 

just one of the differences when riding in the provinces as compared to riding in manila :unsure:
