Career Choices: Money Or Passion?

passion hands down. that's the difference between having a career and a job. money will come in time but the drive and the motivation must be there for you to excel in your chosen field. only passion can give you that. working for money, for me, that is, will only result in frustration and a lack of fulfillment.

Passion, as eventually it would lead to success which in return will give you money. It's kinda hard to do a job that you do not like..

assuming that you can't have both the whole time, i would go for passion while i'm young, then try to strike a balance between the two when i'm nearing settling age, then money upon reaching my peak age.

Passion should come first. What is the purpose of earning money if you do not enjoy and love your job. Besides, there are some things that cannot be bought by money.

 

True. But having no money means you cant buy anything at all.

Have to agree with Daredevil. At this stage it's more of MONEY, just getting by ain't enough these days.

When I'm not that tight with money anymore, I might prefer a career that will also be aligned with the things that I would like to do.

But for the meantime... I'm sticking to my bread and butter

I can truly say that for a nearly a decade of working, it would have to be passion.

 

Recently, I signed up for a job that people in my industry would not normally sign up for because the pay "sucks". But as luck turned out, not only did a much higher position, but the first group to exist in such a company.

 

I actually quit higher paying jobs because I was doing the same thing over and over and it did not do me any good. Passion gives you direction and more chances of earning higher salaries and push yourself to things that you never dreamed of you were capable of doing.

passion first, then money will just follow... if you own a business, and your passionate about the business, naturally, you will be inspired for the business to grow.. if you're an employee, and you are passionate on your work, your hard work will be rewarded by your employer (it depends on your employer)...

my father's passion in his field (he's an artist) did nothing for me and my siblings. we starved and he failed to send all of us to college. so i'd go for money. (imo)

Passion!

My family and I made a financial sacrifice by giving up my 20 year dental career and starting over by going back to school full time for nursing.

And it's the best decision ever because I finally found my purpose and I'm very motivated and I shine when I'm doing what I want to do.
