99% of the time I prefer originals.

but sometimes it's a way of showing your respect

to some of your musical influences

 

but that's a different story here in our country

most of our artists just make revivals to earn money

no talent involved, just joining the bandwagon

I prefer the original of course.. especially that t0o many revivals popularized by Glee (sorry Glee fans) are played over and over the airwaves..

minsan magaganda din revivals eh. parang yung boyz2men na revivals. maganda yung revival nila ng "i miss you" at "think of aaliyah"(original nito is think of laura)

there are hardly any songs wherein the revival is better than the original. Worse, sometimes the revival makes you cringe!

Original, of course! Especially so when Pinoy artists "cover" (it's hardly even called covering anymore. Sound-alike, maybe. Worse are the "acoustic versions"!!! Makes no sense at all!)

 

But there are times that revivals eclipse the original in terms of popularity.

 

For example, "The Greatest Love of All" is obviously associated with Whitney Houston. But I prefer George Benson's version, which IS the original version. Who knew?!
