RoadPizza
Selling pizza is very profitable. The initial investment is high because many of the equipment involved is usually imported and you may have to pay royalty fees if you franchise. However, once you have everything, the food cost is actually quite low. Problems: you've got to find your niche because of the competition. I can tell that Y*ll*w C*b's pizzas suck just by looking at the pictures on their fliers, but they have sure found their niche and are prospering by focusing on deliveries. And because of the competition, you've got to strive to be the best at what you do . . . restaurants come and go all the time because people foolishly believe that it's an easy field to go into and don't realize the hard work needed to succeed. And that's hard work at ALL LEVELS. Quote Link to comment

ATONG ANG
Selling pizza is very profitable. . . . restaurants come and go all the time because people foolishly believe that it's an easy field to go into and don't realize the hard work needed to succeed. And that's hard work at ALL LEVELS. all food businesses need HANDS-ON management. HARD WORK is a must. many people go into food business thinking it will help them weather the economic crisis since food is least affected. partially right, it is least affected but it is STILL affected. Most of them wind up setting a certain food business without the proper knowledge and more important, the much-needed VAST EXPERIENCE. futhermore, they dont realize that they need to put in LONG HOURS. after maybe a year or two, they realize that the profits are not worth the effort put into it and eventually give up. yes, food business is much more stable than other businesses, but competition is much stiffer, and more input work is needed. so if you're not ready to REALLY bust your ass, i strongly suggest you invest somewhere else. another thing with the food business is when people are enjoying holidays, that's exactly the time you toil,. xmas, holy week, all saints day, name it. that's the time food is most needed. are you willing to work while others are enjoying their vacations with their families. that also means no out-of-country or out-of-town vacations either. for those just in the planning stage, THINK AGAIN. i'm not here to discourage you but to guide you if you're really meant for that kind of business.
