sentinel
Cant believe that this is true. I owned one Toyota Corolla GLi 1991 model before and has used it for 6 years I never encountered problem. Now my 1999 Corolla XL is still running with very minimal headaches. Ipinamana na nga sa eldest ko hopefully it will last for another 10 years. Buti na lang I always check the oil level regularly kaya di natutuyuan. I think it boils down to regular check up to lessen headaches later on. Im planning to buy one Toyota Corolla again. Quote Link to comment
johnlove
i own a toyota rav4, after all this years it still drives very well pero may kalampag pa siya. the engine doesn't give me much problems. off-topic: my friend bought a suzuki swift and after two weeks nasira ung computer box while he was driving in edsa. nawala lang bigla control ng kotse niya. ung ceo ng suzuki galing sa Japan inamin na factory defect ung nangyari so willing siya magbigay ng dalawang swift na upgraded lahat ng parts para lang di tuloy nung kaibigan ko ung demanda. binenta na niya ung mga swift, wala kasing kwenta ung kotse na un. he now drives a sylvia. What's a sylvia? Quote Link to comment
sinigatalupin
Try TMP Balintawak, Otis, o Manila Bay :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment
aoki
I currently drive a toyota, and it has not given me any problems so far. I also have a mitsubishi as well as an isuzu and these have not given me any major headaches whatsoever. I guess it boils down to proper maintenance. Ironically, my first car (highschool during the 80's ) was a toyota starlet, this was later heavily modified but it was still a reliable daily driver, although it became a real gas guzzler. I firmly believe that japanese cars a reliable choice, it's just a matter of regular maintenance and preventive maintenance. Quote Link to comment
UncleFrancy
my first car was a '88 toyota celica....it has a 3sfe engine its the same engine as a corolla 2.0 ...since i was only 17 i had no idea i was running the car with super low oil...i'd be driving it and it would just stall.....so after a couple of stalls i decided to check d oil....it was super low...I put some oil in it and never had a problem with it... i was a rekless teenager got in a couple accidents with that toyota saved my life too....rain sleet or snow that toyota was very reliable....in the end the transmission gave out because we were shifting gears without using the clutch.... mercurio
Toyota Toyota had a mighty lancru (the mighty hardtop na pinamana saken at pinamana ko rin)then had a 78 corolla 4 doorthen had a 79 corona 4 door and an 83 celica (gas guzzler with a 2.4 liter engine)tapos nag civic hatchback ( sana di ko binenta SAYANG)tapos nag sentra fenow driving a vios 1.5 ang mahal ng maintenance ng honda & nissan in the end it's still Toyota for me. vios since 2004 and just got the 09 vios both 1.5 G ang sa akin lang is be religious when it comes to the regular periodic maintenance schedule and your car won't give you problems. if you ain't got the luxury of time --- go for synthetic oil just my five centavos worth as far as service is concerned, i'd still go for Toyota Makati, Inc. (Kudos) i agree... tatagal ang sasakyan kapag regular ang PMS (regardless of brand)magastos pero prevention is better than cureparehas tayo bumili lang din kami ng vios 1.5g... ganda ng power to rate ratio. toyota marikina naman kami nagpapaservice... ok dun kasi pwede mo lapitan auto mo at kausapin yung service mechanic, para alam mo mga sakit/problema ng sasakyan Quote Link to comment
X3ME15
maybe the newer cars but our family uses only the old Toyota vehicles presumably the old Hilux and Landcruisers.. a workhorse and has served us well true, the periodic maintenance is necessary like any vehicles do but the secret lies on knowing your vehicle also and how you can troubleshoot the problem early on before it can cause more damage Quote Link to comment

mlpf
I bought a 2005 Vios 1.5G as my first car. I sold it for a good price and got the 2010 Vios 1.5G. My father also bought Toyota cars. He bought the Corolla and the Corona. I am satisfied with Toyota cars as was my father. Durable and cheaper to maintain. I am having a great time with the 2010 Vios. I agree that regular PMS is needed to keep your car in good shape. I've had bad experiences with Toyota Cubao and Quezon Avenue. I bought my car from Toyota Manila Bay. Any feedback about the service of Toyota Shaw? Thanks. Quote Link to comment

tatang1972
I have a personal experience with a 2005 toyota innova. Ung mileage nya nasa 38k pa lang. The problem with the car is namamatay sya pag tinanggal mo ung paa mo sa accelerator to apply brakes. Seems like nachoke ung car. It was already checked and services by toyota service center but the problem persist. Quote Link to comment

blueflower
Toyota Fortuner diesel also has the same problem with Innova. Biglang namamatay din kung minsan. Quote Link to comment
knoll1234
mass production must equal good quality control...which is not the case. My wife had 2 toyotas ( corolla and van) lasted 18 years and 13 years respectively. the main problems we had were, brakes, water pump, and transmission.the check engine warning light would always come on and off but the cars would run fine. other than thatm change oil, tires and they would run forever. dickdagger
Toyota Libis at Shaw.. BAD TRIP makipag-usap dito. Quote Link to comment

There has been cases here (reported in the news) that some of those claiming rapid acceleration of their Toyota cars were in fact lying. Most claimed using the brakes (main and parking brakes) but upon study (remember, computerized na karamihan ng cars dito) the brakes were not applied. Some were atempting to get money from Toyota or couldn't pay for the car anymore. Kaya ayun ibinabangga na lang kotse nila. Quote Link to comment
joycelim
Recently bought a Rav4. The car is excellent but the Customer Service in Toyota Quezon Avenue absolutely sucked!!! =( Quote Link to comment
KCR101
In my experience, Toyotas have been pretty much reliable and normally take longer to break down than (most) Japanese brands, and most noticeably also because of their easy to find and cheaper parts. My $.02 worth on casas are, don't rely on them because they are bloodsuckers. Get a good mechanic instead and save a ton of money. The only problem I'm having with Toyotas now is that the suspension of their newer models are awful, most especially for the new Altis and Fortuner. The best way to describe it is, if ever you've ridden a kalesa, you'll know what I'm talking about. What gives? Quote Link to comment
