I am currently using ubuntu 10.04 and my problem is i can't log-in my username and password and a pop-up message appear: "Power Manager is not properly installed"

Bro try using a terminal to re-install the Power manager:

1. Press Ctl + Alt + F2

2. login with your account

3. sudo apt-get remove gnome-power-manager

4. sudo apt-get install gnome-power-manager

5. sudo init 6

Try logging in again.

:)

Well it's been a while. For me the best answer is using lightweight distro like bookworm pup then install steam or since the distro is lightweight a virtual machine can do as well. Still using puppy Linux as of 2025
