Traffic Problem In Metro Manila (Merged Thread)

The article is not baseless, pero kung mag example ka i accurate mo naman. Sabi mo take home pay 200, kalahati agad from the article na 400.

hindi baseless pero di accurate...that's what you are saying? Laughable isn't it.

So if it was quoted directly from a live radio interview from a resource person hindi accurate?

Yung accuracy is pointed on how you post. Nasa ibang frequency ka nanaman.

Why are you guys even arguing if it's 200 o 400 o kahit 600 pa man yan? It's still well below what it takes for the average juan to survive on, much less raise a family.

1 ) Yun mga pro-modernization (in its current form): we'd like to hear from you how this will help the average jeepney driver considering the current boundary system.

2 ) Do you think the boundary system should still be implemented?

We know modernization of the public transport should be done, but it's my opinion that should be done right and with healthy consideration for the welfare of the drivers themselves.

In the article above it seems pro-operator ang modernization program. Currently may mga operator/driver set-up meaning these people drive their own jeep. And what assurance na they will be hired to drive by the new operators?

So they’ll be needing 20 million pesos, minimum kung ganyan. How much will the government lend daw? And how long to pay it off and at what interest rate?

There is what they call the 5-6-7 formula ...

5% equity, essentially d/p equivalent to 5% of the unit price the balance will be financed by landbank i think.

6% p.a. Interest rate

7 yrs to pay (monthly amortization over a period of 7 yrs)

Parang lalabas di lalayo sa "boundary" ngayon ng mga tsuper ang monthly amort (more or less nasa 800 assuming 1.2m yun bagong jeep)

Assuming fully paid na nila yan after 7 years... how long before it becomes obsolete?

Kung electric vehicle yan, eh di mas madaling masira yun battery at electronics.

What was earlier indicated obviously only refers to the financial terms of the financing. And yes it does not include maintenance expense that will be incurred.

I have not come accross any info on its obsolescence but i read somewhere that the ave life expectancy of a car is around 8 yrs. So i guess 10-12 yrs would be a good guesstimate a stretch of 15 if superbly maintained. Longer than that eh baka bumalik na naman tayo sa state ng puj ngayon.

But on a business perspective specially sa operators imho yun payback period na tinitingnan would be within 7 yrs and not the obsolescence life of it.

Looks like this thread is like the traffic in EDSA.. iinit ng ulo ng mga tao. :P

Well on a side note, anyway this is still about traffic. Since guys would usually say that women are stupid drivers, I have somehow capitalized on that (peace smiley). Like I would just recklessly swerve or cut someone.. thinking.. hey babae ako ha so wag mo ko papatulan. Haha! True enough, pinapasingit naman ako and whenever I get caught by a traffic enforcer (which is usually a guy), I've always managed to charm my way out (even if it was beating red light).

Ayun lang. I just wanted to say to everyone here to chill out. Traffic is really a problem in most progressive countries. We should blame progress and not our government (kahit kanino pang government admin yan). I am sure our leaders are trying to find the best solution to this. Dadaloy din ang ginhawa.. just think positive. Life is still great! ^_^
