tk421
Hahaha! These occurrences are far between, compared to your idol's time when it was almost everyday. Eto yun incidents nun kay Kalbo: January 20, 2011 – A southbound train stopped near the Santolan station after a break pad got stuck. Passengers noticed a foul odor from the break pad, causing them to panic. Some sustained minor injuries. March 21, 2011 – A coach of a southbound train suddenly got detached as it approached the Kamuning station. No one was hurt in the said incident. February 7, 2012 – Only the northern half of the MRT was operational for two hours in the morning after a technical problem was found at the Guadalupe station. March 19, 2013 – Trains were prevented from turning around and heading north from the Taft station, paralyzing the whole northbound trip. The move was implemented as a safety precaution due to disruption in electricity. March 26, 2014 – At least 8 passengers were hurt after a southbound train suddenly stopped at the Guadalupe station. The sudden hard stop caused passengers to lose balance and trip or fall. Most of the passengers were rushed to the Makati Medical Center. (READ: Driver lapse causes MRT 3 accident) June 3, 2014 – Lightning struck in the Kamuning area and hit one of the MRT's power lines, partly paralyzing operations from the North Avenue to the Shaw stations. Repairs were made and the system was restored after almost two hours. In 2017 there was an average of 10 breakdowns PER WEEK. January-March 2018 - 44 breakdown incidents. Deterioration isn't an overnight thing. It started from somewhere and it started with the Dwende. Quote Link to comment

Duterte inherited a problem that began with the imbecile's administration due to changing of service providers, from a competent one to an incompetent one. tk421
Duterte inherited a problem that began with the imbecile's administration due to changing of service providers, from a competent one to an incompetent one. And which in turn started from the previous admin. Quote Link to comment
will robie
And which in turn started from the previous admin. Because you said so? No basis at all. Quote Link to comment
tk421
Not just because I said (and experienced it so), I already gave proof that the problems began during the dwarf lady's time. But I wouldn't bet on someone with a memory span of a bee to remember that far. Quote Link to comment
camus
you want to solve the traffic problem within 1 month? its easy. just remove ALL the special privileges of politicians and their families. walang vip treatment. make them go through life like the rest of us ordinary citizens.make them wait through hours and hours of gridlocked traffic.make them line up at LTO to renew their license, line up to get their nbi clearance, line up at DFA to get their passports, line up at city hall to get business permits, line up to NSO to get birth certificates, and so on.... politicians dont know and dont care because they dont have to suffer like we do.make them experience our pain and i guarantee you, solve lahat ng problems natin within 1 month. 1 Quote Link to comment
camiar
Population density is low.
When Tolentino was interviewed by ABS, he mentioned that he will push for the emergency powers for traffic. I hope he gets the chairmanship of the public services committee. The former chairman was useless as the chairman of that committee. Quote Link to comment
dungeonbaby
What is Tolentino's plan for Manila traffic, though? I wish there was a system whereby we could report erring drivers easily. Where I live, there are two intersections where everyone complies with traffic rules because enforcers are stationed there. A couple of blocks away from those intersections, people get away with illegal turns and speeding. If everyone could report a violation, having proof of said violation with dashcam footage, and receive a small incentive for this I bet drivers would fall in line. Quote Link to comment

Its not his job to have a plan on traffic. He failed during Pnoys time, now as a Senator people from DoTr just need his support to give them power to implement their plans which was deprived by Poe. dungeonbaby
That'd explain why people vote on loyalties versus platforms. If he were to chair a committee maybe he should at least have some idea how the government might fix the problem. It's not like the DOTr has been free of issues. Anyway, Tolentino did relaunch the Pasig River ferry system and he did stop oversize advertising beside roads; I'd say he has a vision in his head of how to approach this monster of a problem. When Tolentino was interviewed by ABS, he mentioned that he will push for the emergency powers for traffic. I hope he gets the chairmanship of the public services committee. The former chairman was useless as the chairman of that committee. Poe was a disappointment even though she did seem to be asking the right questions. Whatever happened to the case against Abaya, I wonder. Quote Link to comment
