EMP TXG 327

i was with my officemate,my officemate was on her way home to wilsom guevarra, around san juan, after arriving at the destination, the driver thought that i was also leaving but i told him that i still have to go somewhere, the driver was about the reset the meter when i told him not to, while on the way, the driver has asked for a"dagdag" repeatedly, i was so irritated so i asked the driver to stop and paid for the bill, that didnt stop there as the driver told me that "hindi pa nga tayo lumalayo, umaayaw ka na!"

kung di lang matanda yun driver, malamang sinapak ko na yan hahaha..company taxi pa naman :thumbsdownsmiley:

Most taxi dito sa atin, if you can avoid it, do it. Not like our neighbor country, most of their taxi's had meter receipt already. The last time I'm in Kuala Lumpur their taxi drivers are well uniformed, good driving skill and lastly honest with corresponding POS receipt. Dito sa atin, most taxi drivers dont even went to driving school, lack of discipline, and some cab meters are just unbelievable! hands down.

'Batingting' may have cost cabbie his life

By Michael Punongbayan (The Philippine Star) Updated January 18, 2010 12:00 AM

MANILA, Philippines - A taxi driver who was shot and stabbed to death in Quezon City Saturday could have been killed after his own passengers caught him messing with the taxi’s fare meter.

Senior Police Officer 2 Jun Mortel said another taxi driver they asked to examine the cab (TXL-457) driven by Carlito Roncales, 54, said a “batingting” was found attached to the fare meter. The gadget makes the fare meter function faster, significantly increasing the fare a passenger has to pay.

Mortel said the “batingting” angle could explain why Roncales was killed without being robbed, as is often the case.

He said Roncales was still clutching a P100 bill when police found his body at the corner of 12th and Boni Serrano Avenues in Barangay Socorro with the engine of his taxi still running.

Mortel said the fare meter stopped at P90, which suggests that he may have picked up the passengers who killed him only five to six kilometers from the crime scene.

Mortel said the passengers probably confronted Roncales about how fast the fare meter was running and thereafter killed him. They later escaped.

He said a “batingting” is usually concealed in the car stereo, the accelerator pedal, and the like.
