turi_guilliano
yup psv's vogel is good, and psv isnt throwing its talents away, malaki lang oppurtunities sa labas ng netherlands.... u have to understand that the dutch league doesnt have the same audience and class as the other leagues like serie a and the spanish la liga... all good dutch players start in the dutch national league and breakthorugh either with psv, ajax or team orange... then they get signed by much larger teams like manchester united (van nistelrooy), ac milan (jaap stam&clarence seedorf) or arsenal (bergkamp), and yes even van der sar.... and the list goes on... what you should look out for are ajax's sneijder and van der vaart and psv's robben and heitinga...very young but very promising...<{POST_SNAPBACK}> erratum...my apologies...robben is with chelsea now while heitinga joins sneijder and vander vaart with ajax... howard_the_duck
Liverpool FC will get to defend their UEFA Champions League trophy after all, UEFA allowed Liverpool to participate in the Qualifying rounds where they face the domestic champions of Kazakhstan, Cyprus and other lesser-known leagues. Good decision. The defending champion should defend their championship, and be not excluded from the tournament. Quote Link to comment

damaso
btw, argentina THRASHED a ronaldo-less brazil 3-1 :thumbsdownsmiley: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> saw it. brazil now has not won in argentina since 1995 (i think). wouldn't call it a thrashing though. game of 2 halves. i think after the first 30 minutes, brazil controlled the rest of the match. they had at least 10 good opportunities. these 2 teams should be considered the top contenders for the world cup. it'll be hard for any european team to beat them. teio
England midfield player Scott Parker has left Chelsea FC to sign for Newcastle United FC in a deal worth €9.8m. The 24-year-old made just 15 league appearances during an 18-month spell at the newly crowned English champions having cost €14.6m when signing a four-and-a-half year contract in January 2004. Parker, who broke a bone in his foot in December, had a medical at St James' Park and has agreed a five-year stay. Parker revealed he had no hesitation in moving to the north-east of England, claiming "the stature of this club is massive". He added: "This is the club for me. I know other clubs were keen on me, but as soon as I heard Newcastle were interested, there was only one place I was going." Newcastle are in the middle of a major reshuffle after failing to secure an automatic European place for the coming campaign. The club, UEFA Cup quarter-finalists in 2004/05, finished 14th in the Premiership and will enter the UEFA Intertoto Cup in the third round next month. Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert, French winger Laurent Robert, Northern Irish full-back Aaron Hughes and Irish central defender Andy O'Brien have all left, while Welsh forward Craig Bellamy will not return after being loaned to Celtic FC last season. Midfielder Lee Bowyer is also thought to be on his way. Quote Link to comment
