mrbig86
Smoking will reduce your stamina and affect your breathing - two things that are important for lifting weights - especially if you are a power lifter. I was a smoker when I was 13-17 years old, and again when I was 23-28. I've been lifting weights since I was 15, and I can tell you, it affects your performance in general. johnlove
Still smoking, and your body is still strong? What smoking can't do to you, it can do to your future kids. Prepare to take care for special children. Unlike marijuana, once you start smoking, it is difficult to quit. That's why some people prefer marijuana to cigarettes. handsomebob
my gym friend smokes about a cigarette before he starts lifting... I do believe it is hindering him from lifting greater weights and he is only 22 so he doesn't feel the effects yet of his smoking habit... Quote Link to comment
