Matt asks: This might seem like a trivial question but I was wondering what is the purpose of that white rope that hangs from the top turnbuckle that the wrestlers seem to hold on to during tag team matches?

 

WK: That is the "tag rope," and it was introduced decades ago as a way to keep tag team wrestlers standing in their corner rather than running the perimeter of the ring apron to reach for a tag to their partner. Legally, they aren't allowed to make a tag unless they are holding onto that tag rope. :upside:
