hitman531ph
Batista is injured. No, it is not because Randy Orton punted Batista's head last week. That's just a storyline. The real story is that Batista has a hamstring injury which needs surgery to repair. Batista is expected to be out 6 to 8 months. He will miss Wrestlemania XXV. Quote Link to comment
hitman531ph
Maryse InjuredNew Divas champion Maryse suffered a severe knee injury at a house show over the weekend during a tag team match. Elvis Gimmick DroppedWWE has dropped the Elvis gimmick that Ryan Braddock was supposed to debut. He's back to being a generic wrestler again. Successful SurgeryBatista's surgery on Friday was a success. He will begin physical therapy immediately. Should be back in 6-8 months still. Umaga's ReturnWWE has already started promoting Umaga on several of the upcoming shows. He should return very soon. New NameMilena Roucka will now be known as Rosa Mendez. She was involved in that segment with Santino Marella on Raw. When you look at Bam Neely and Ekeziel Jackson, it's quite evident that WWE has lost their ability to create interesting bodyguards. Boring Bodyguards Browse over the official ECW rosters page on the WWE website, and there's a good chance that you'll overlook Bam Neely. Do the same thing on Smackdown, and you'll probably do the same to Ekeziel Jackson. That's because both bodyguards have become rather boring. Bam Neely had a good role a few months back when he was a part of the La Familia stable, but now, he's just lost in the shuffle. When Ezekiel Jackson made his debut, his imposing size had wrestling fans talking, but now, they're not. On-Again Off-Again WWE simply has not been able to be consistent when it comes to Bam Neely. In September, they ran a storyline where Chavo Guerrero slapped Bam Neely, and the two appeared to have split. Then, the two were involved in a tag team match where Chavo Guerrero walked out on his bodyguard. It almost seems as if the writers simply don't have anything planned, so they can't pull the trigger on an official split. Of course, I'm not really sure why they would want to split these two up in the first place. Bam Neely becomes even more irrelevant if they do. Guilty By Association It's a well known fact with wrestling fans that Brian Kendrick's push has been halted because of drug issues. There was word that Ezekiel Jackson was going to benefit from that because management wanted to shift the focus from Brian Kendrick to him. However, that hasn't appeared to be the case; it now looks like Ezekiel Jackson is lost in the shuffle due to his association with Brian Kendrick. Most people aren't even aware that they're involved in a feud with Carlito & Primo Colon. The storyline has been painfully slow to develop, and most wrestling fans have already stopped caring about it. Tag Team Depth A real simple solution for these two bodyguards that would also quiet a lot of the critics is for WWE to put them into a permanent tag team. Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely. Brian Kendrick & Ezekiel Jackson. Jesse & Festus. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder. Carlito & Primo Colon. Just like that, the Smackdown tag team division is much deeper and more competitive. Now that he's floundering in the midcard scene, CM Punk is going to have to defeat the odds again to get back into the main event. CM Punk vs the World Considering how hard it was for CM Punk to become a main event wrestler in the first place, it would almost be easier for him to go up against the world. When CM Punk signed a developmental deal with WWE in 2005, very few people thought that he would ever become a main event wrestler in the company. Most were just hoping that he'd become a popular midcard wrestler. The doubt wasn't because of his skills. Oh, no. Nothing can be further from the truth there because CM Punk had all the skills in the world. While working for Ring of Honor, CM Punk had a match against current TNA star Samoa Joe that was given the elusive 5 star rating by Dave Meltzer. It was the intangibles that made people doubt CM Punk. The Intangibles CM Punk is in good shape, but he'll never be mistaken for the ultra muscular wrestlers that Vince McMahon drools over. Of course, since he's very much against taking drugs, there really was no way that he was going to beef up using steroids. That's one thing that people held against him. Another thing was his personality. It's not that CM Punk is a jerk or anything. It's just that he has a reputation as one of these guys that will tell it like it is. If he has something on his mind, you can be sure that he'll say it. Combine that with his quick wit, and you have a deadly combination that might rub people the wrong way. More than likely, CM Punk did rub some people the wrong way because there's plenty of stories floating around about backstage personnel being very vocal against him. On Top of the World It must have taken forces greater than anything on this planet (or Vince McMahon) to have enabled CM Punk to become a World Heavyweight Champion. For those of us that keep up with things going on backstage, it was a complete shock that CM Punk was allowed to take the top spot on the brand. CM Punk didn't stay on top for too long, though. The company appeared to have lost faith in him as a champion pretty quickly. Of course, a guy as talented like CM Punk can't be held down for too long. He deserves another chance at being in the main event, and he'll go through the world to make it happen. Chyna was sent to the hospital over the weekend after mixing alcohol and prescription pills. The former WWE diva, whose real name is Joanie Laurer, was taken to a hospital in Burbank, California after she blacked out. She had alcohol and prescription pills in her system. Chyna also had some cuts on her arms. There's some conflicting stories as to what really happened. A video director that Chyna had been working with released an official statement defending her actions. Jeff Bauer, who is a director for Mad Dog Promotions, stated that Chyna was having some celebratory drinks with people from the video shoot. According to him, Chyna had forgotten that she was on the prescription pills. He also defended the cuts on the arms by stating that she fell into a mirrored closet door when she blacked out. Others are suggesting that this could have been a suicide attempt by Chyna, who does have a history of troubled behavior. Interestingly enough, her manager Mike Esterman, stated that she would be going to rehab once she gets out of the hospital. Edited December 30, 2008 by hitman531ph Quote Link to comment
darth_johnnie_walker
One last thing...I hate how the new ECW Championship belt looks like...I do hope they change the WWE Championship's appearance, because that belt will forever be John Cena's belt, no matter who's the champion. It still and will always have Cena's legacy on it...No spinner belt for the World Heavyweight Championship??? :thumbsupsmiley: Its one of the reasons I think that the HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE was not costomized to a CENA belt since the WWE TITLE still looks like CENA's.. They should change it back to the way the title looks like when THE ROCK, HOGAN, TRIPLE H won it before.. :hypocritesmiley: Quote Link to comment
hitman531ph
WWE will be releasing a book on the history of DX (as told by HHH and HBK themselves) some time in 2009. Even though she dislocated her knee, Maryse will still remain the Divas champion. She will be working through the injury. Paul Burchill and Katie Lea Burchill have both been officially moved to ECW. Paul Burchill worked a match this week. Jack TV seems to have changed the schedules of their programming. Raw airs Wednesday and Smackdown on Sunday, 9pm. I checked the Jack TV site for confirmed schedules but their schedules are not complete yet. Edited January 5, 2009 by hitman531ph Quote Link to comment
hitman531ph
Stephanie McMahon has taken over the talent relations department. Despite having the title of Senior Vice President of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis is no longer in charge of the wrestlers in WWE. He has since relinquished that role (but not the title) to Stephanie McMahon. In a recently released transcript from the government investigation into drug use in professional wrestling, Stephanie McMahon herself revealed the change. She stated that upper management decided that John Laurinaitis needed someone to manage him, so Stephanie McMahon was appointed to that role. She is now in charge of which wrestler gets called up from developmental. She's also in charge of handling the wrestlers that are currently on the main brands. Quote Link to comment
hitman531ph
TNA is going to have to scramble to find a new challenger for Awesome Kong at the Genesis pay per view on Sunday night. Christy Hemme has suffered a serious neck injury that's going to require surgery and will be forced to miss the pay per view. After over a decade in the company, Val Venis has been released by WWE. Hardy's GirlfriendFor those of you that are wondering, that was an actress that was portraying Jeff Hardy's girlfriend on Smackdown. Edited January 12, 2009 by hitman531ph Quote Link to comment
hitman531ph
WWE CEO Linda McMahon has been named to the Board of Education in the state of Connecticut. As part of the company's budget cut, Vince McMahon has fired his two limo drivers. Times are rough, my friends. Ron Simmons Released Ron Simmons has been released from his WWE contract. With WWE having to buckle down and reduce cost, the company has been releasing several wrestlers and front office personnel over the last few days. Ron Simmons becomes the latest casualty of the budget cut. Many weren't surprised that Ron Simmons was cut. His role in the company was doing public relations work with an occasional on-screen appearance. He was wildly popular with the WWE fanbase thanks to his "Damn!" catchphrase. Ron Simmons had been with WWE since 1996. CHRIS JERICHO IS NOT FIRED. Chris Jericho being fired is simply a storyline. He's still under WWE contract, and he more than likely will be back on television by next week. There's a lot of fans that are confused by the storyline. Part of it, though, could stem from the fact that the last time WWE did a storyline with Chris Jericho being fired, he ended up taking two years off. Rest assured, though, he's not going anywhere right now. Stone Cold to Hall of Fame When you're one of the most popular wrestlers in the history of the business, it's not going to surprise anyone when WWE announces that you're going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Steve Austin will be honored at Wrestlemania 25 this year. Quote Link to comment

hitman531ph
After 7 years with WWE, popular diva Victoria has decided to walk away from the industry and retire. On Smackdown last night, wrestling fans saw Victoria's final match in WWE. She worked a match against Michelle McCool, and lost after being pinned following a Styles Clash. Afterwards, she got on the mic and said her goodbyes. She thanked the fans and told them how much she appreciated them. The official trailer for 12 Rounds, a WWE film starring John Cena, has been released. Hardcore Holly ReleasedAfter 15 years in the company, Hardcore Holly has been released by WWE. Tommy Dreamer announced plans for retirement in ECW. It is just a storyline. Car AccidentMickie James was involved in a car accident after leaving the arena on Monday. She did not suffer any serious injury. On the same day that Jim Corderas was released by WWE, his father passed away as well. He was with WWE for 22 years. Hade Vansen ReleasedAfter a failed attempt at bringing him up to Smackdown, WWE has decided to release Hade Vansen from the company. Moondog Cujo Passes AwayFormer WWE and USWA star Moondog Cujo (real name Lanny Kean) has passed away at the age of 48. Steve Austin Wanted Ric Flair For his hall of fame induction, Steve Austin is not going to get what he wants. Steve Austin really wanted Ric Flair to be the one to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame, but the company refused that request. Management (namely Vince McMahon) is still upset with Ric Flair for leaving the company, so they don't want him involved in such a high profile segment. It's interesting that Steve Austin would choose Ric Flair as the person who would induct him. There were talks that there was friction between the two stemming from their days in WCW. Steve Austin has either gotten over it or the friction was overstated. More than likely, Jim Ross will be the one to induct Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 25. Sgt Slaughter Released From WWE Sgt. Slaughter is the latest victim of the WWE budget cuts. The legendary wrestler, whose real name is Robert Remus, has been released from his WWE contract. The former WWE Heavyweight Champion had been working for the company as a producer for the last couple of years. In 2004, Sgt Slaughter was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Quote Link to comment

hitman531ph
Whos Hade Vansen & Jim Corderas? Jim Corderas was a referee. Hade Vansen is a new upcoming wrestler who miserably failed to impress Vince McMahon on his first few dark matches and got the ax instead. Quote Link to comment
