Bobby Lashley is still being paid by WWE.

As part of the agreement on his release, WWE has agreed to pay Bobby Lashley his full contract until the end of May. In exchange, Bobby Lashley will not be allowed to jump to TNA during that time period.

Recently, Kurt Angle and Booker T have been pushing TNA to bring in Bobby Lashley. He’s been said to be leaning more toward TNA than a career in MMA.

Must be nice to be able to sit at home and receive a hefty WWE paycheck without doing anything.

The Rock was at the Academy Awards as a presenter.

The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) presented the award for Best Visual Effects. He made a joke about the scene from Raiders of the Lost Arc. The nominees were Transformer and Pirates of the Carribean. The Golden Compass ended up winning.

Watching him at these awards show should help k*ll rumors of his wrestling return, but for some reason, it doesn’t. Goes to show you how much wrestling fans want him back.

Vince McMahon was invited by Congress to speak.

WWE chairman Vince McMahon was invited to speak at a congressional hearing on February 27, 2008. The hearing in Washington DC was meant to address to the health of athletes undermining the integrity of competition (basically steroids abuse).

Vince McMahon declined the invitation. He stated that his attorney was not available that day.

Smart move by Vince McMahon to not show up. He would have basically been made to look bad, especially considering there’s so many bad things that have happened in pro wrestling involving deaths and drugs over the past few months.

Booker T has been working with the NBA for promotional reasons.

Booker T has been promoting his wrestling company, the PWA, through the NBA. More specifically, he has been promoting through his hometown NBA team, the Houston Rockets.

Pretty smart move by Booker T. He’s a smart businessman. The PWA is currently one of the top independent wrestling companies around. Always good to see pro wrestlers having other business ventures to fall back upon.

John Cena will begin shooting his new movie on Monday.

Shooting begins on Monday for “12 Rounds”, the latest movie from WWE Films. The movie, which stars John Cena, will be shot in Louisiana. He isn’t expected to miss much time from WWE since he’s needed to help promote Wrestlemania.

On a side note, there were some wild rumors going around the internet that Al Pacino was going to be involved with this movie, but that has proven to be false.

I wanted to see a match between JBL and Finlay especially after what he did to Hornswoggle... saka sana they should consider him to hold either one of the 3 championships belts of the main brands...

Yung sa abovementioned clique ni Randy Orton lahat sila except MVP are from well known wrestling families or clans so hindi sila pwedeng basta na lang isnabin pag may gusto silang mangyari...

--I'm referring to Finlay on my first statement-- pag-champion-in na siya-- Belfast Bruiser/Brawler's championship is waaay overdue..

WWE has signed Colin Delaney to a long term contract now.

Colin Delaney, who has been getting more of a reaction from the audience than half the ECW/Smackdown roster, has been officially signed to a 3 year deal by WWE. He had previously been working on a “pay per appearance” deal.

With a long term contract in hand, don’t be too surprised to see WWE putting the WWE Tag Team Championship belts around the waists of Colin Delaney and Tommy Dreamer. They might not be the best tag team in the world, but they’re more interesting than the other tag teams in the company.

Jeff Jarrett has absolutely no plans to return to TNA.

Jeff Jarrett has been busy focusing on his backstage duties with the company. He’s also been taking care of his kids after the untimely loss of his wife last year. It doesn’t appear that Jeff Jarrett will be returning to full time action any time soon.

There’s still a chance, though, that Jeff Jarrett could make special appearances every once in a while, though.

Maria Kanellis’s Playboy issue will be released on March 7, 2008.

WWE will be doing a segment on Monday Night Raw next week where they will reveal the cover of the issue.

John Cena has publicly criticized the Rock.

In an interview with the UK Sun, John Cena talked about the Rock and his career choice. John Cena praises the Rock as a person, but he doesn’t like how the Rock hasn’t come back to wrestling.

John Cena talks about wanting to be a wrestler for his entire life. He talks about how the Rock basically fell into the business (probably because of his family ties). He says he doesn’t have a problem with the Rock becoming an actor (he’s doing the same thing). However, he doesn’t like how the Rock doesn’t come back to reward his loyal fan base.

Got to give John Cena credit for daring to say this. A lot of wrestlers feel the same way. However, most wrestlers are smart enough not to cross that line. It’s even more amazing that John Cena would say this knowing that the Rock is one of the beloved performers ever while he’s one of the most despised (fairly or unfairly) wrestlers ever.

The two are expected to cross paths later on this year during Wrestlemania weekend. It’ll be interesting to see how the Rock reacts.

Several TNA wrestlers are working without a contract.

Several TNA wrestlers, including Black Reign, Rellik, Payton Banks, and Judas Mesias, are working without a contract. They are being paid per appearance.

It’s really not a surprise that Black Reign and Rellik aren’t under contract. Their characters limit them from being able to move too far up the ladder. Payton Banks has a decent role in the company, so her signing is probably just a formality that needs to be completed. Judas Mesias has a pretty high profile for a guy that doesn’t have a contract.

With these wrestlers not being under contract, it wouldn’t be a shock for them to jump to WWE, ROH, or another wrestling promotion.
