Backstage News On Angle/Samoa Joe, Monty Brown, More

Don’t be surprised if you see AJ Styles becoming more of a centerpiece on TNA TV soon. Vince Russo is a big fan of Styles and thinks that TNA’s move to primetime is the perfect time to re-establish him as one of the company’s top stars.

Despite everything going around the internet on Monty Brown and WWE, there is still talk that he could end up re-signing with TNA.

After Kurt Angle gave Joe the head butt that drew blood in their segment on iMPACT!, backstage he approached Joe to make sure he was ok. Joe was fine with it and was said to have enjoyed the intensity of Angle in the ring.

Big Show has been telling people that he is considering leaving wrestling next year and going into acting, since his size and comedic personality makes him rather unique and should get him plenty work. His original contract, signed in 1999, was $950,000 a year for ten years.

 $950,000 WOW!

Anyway sad to hear Show leave, health is better than any amount of money anyway

WWE Interested In Signing Monty Brown

Story posted by Dan Pena on October 30, 2006

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

It is considered to a better than 50% chance that former TNA headliner Monty Brown will be signing with World Wrestling Entertainment within the next few weeks. The ball seems to be in his court because its up to him if he will take WWE's offer. The only potential hold-up is said to be if he asks for something out of the ordinary when it comes to the road schedule or money.

Brown was never willing to work indies regularly while in TNA due to his job as a fitness trainer. This would become an issue because of the feeling that he wasn't improving in the ring to where he could be the company's top star. In late 2005, there were plans for Brown to beat Jarrett for the title and for the company to be built around him, but the feeling was that he hadn't picked up his game. Furthermore, Samoa Joe got over big and Christian signed with TNA - which changed plans and threw things out the window for him. Brown ended up unhappy and it ultimately lead to him leaving the promotion.

Kurt Angle Shoots On Vince McMahon & Triple H

Story posted by Tim Brown on October 21, 2006

The PWTorch Newsletter reports that Kurt Angle recently spoke on his WWE departure on Bubba The Love Sponge’s show on Sirius Radio. He had very few good things to say about several WWE names, mainly Vince McMahon and Triple H.

He says that when he told Vince about his addiction to pain pills, Vince didn’t want him to enter rehab. He told Vince "I'm Gonna Die", to which Vince responded with telling him to figure out his problems on the road. He said Vince needed to keep him around to help put over John Cena.

Angle also spoke on Triple H, saying that he doesn’t respect him as a person and that he likes to hog the show with his booking power. He said that HHH was against Angle getting the title because he thought Angle was too small. When Jerry Brisco suggested that Triple H do a shoot fight with angle to see how much his physical size really held him back, Triple H backed down.

ganyan naman talaga sa wwe eh, when a wrestler leaves wwe, they always shoots on vince! "vince this, vince that" just a buch of cry babies! they should be grateful that vince gave them a chance to be great! sure, some superstars are made as a stepping stone for other wrestlers to get over, but that what is needed to keep the business going!

Caught TNA on Star Sports yesterday. I don't religiously follow it because it's always sooo delayed. Anyway, it's caught up to the time when Angle just joined, and he's mouthing off about his Vaicodin addiction, his family problems and how WWE did nothing to help him. Well, personally I think the solution to most of those problems should come from him and only very partially from work management. I don't ask my boss to talk to my gf when we have problems because of my work. Maybe it's just bluster, maybe Vince can really be a prick, maybe Hunter is a bit jealous of Angle... but then, I would say that Angle should be a little more appreciative of how he became a name in the first place.

Hopefully, Paul Smith won't move to TNA. I like TNA talents because they're really good. I just don't like the show because it's really not as good as WWE. Not just from the "soap opera" aspect.

RIC FLAIR AND RODDY PIPER ARE THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!! :boo:

and booker won the champion of champions match... <_<

(from wwe.com)

Even though he unsuccessfully tried to forge alliances with his competitors behind their backs, King Booker would unknowingly get help from the most unlikely of candidates. In doing so, he was able to win the historic match and be crowned the Champion of Champions at Cyber Sunday.

Moments before the contest began, King Booker’s face showed his utter shock and disbelief when it was revealed that a whopping 67 percent of WWE and ECW fans voted for his World Heavyweight Championship to be on the line. In the history-making match against ECW World Champion Big Show and WWE Champion John Cena, King Booker was determined to come out on top, no matter what the fans had voted.

“It was a travesty of justice for my World Heavyweight Championship to be put on the line with a rouge such as Big Show and a peasant such as John Cena,” lamented Booker.

All three showed why they are champions as it was a fierce and combative bout. It looked like Cena was on his way to a victory as he was about to put an end to King Booker’s reign. Queen Sharmell came into the ring looking to use her King’s World Heavyweight Championship on Cena, but he saw her and gave the Queen a crippling FU. When the referee went to check on her, King Booker went after Cena, but again Cena was ready and caught him with the STFU. Booker cried out and it looked like Cena would be going home with two championships.

Then out of nowhere, rap artist and Cena’s recent adversary Kevin Federline ran into the ring and hit Cena with the World Heavyweight Championship. A stunned Cena went after K-Fed, but King Booker clocked Cena with a second shot, knocking the champ out cold. Booker ultimately covered Cena for the three-count to retain his gold.

As Cena lay motionless in the ring, K-Fed mocked him by doing Cena’s signature “You Can’t See Me” taunts over his defeated body. K-Fed was heard laughing and making fun of Cena on his way out of the arena and bragged to several that he would be on Monday Night RAW. While his motives are not known at this time, K-Fed’s Cena screw job comes on the heels of several weeks of each movie star/rapper trying to one up each other. However, costing the Dr. of Thuganomics the title goes well beyond anything either party has done to the other in the past. Much like the name of his new album, K-Fed is Playing with Fire.

Everyone is wondering if K-Fed will make good on his promise to show up Monday night on RAW and what he will do should he arrive.

King Booker, indignant about the help he received from Federline had a few words to say after the match.

“I assure you John Cena will pay and he will pay dearly for giving my Queen the FU. I vanquished Big Show. I vanquished John Cena and now I stand here before you: King Booker. King and ruler of the SmackDown kingdom and now the Champion of Champions.”
