hitman531ph
By now, most of you have already heard that Ric Flair has been released from WWE. After his retirement match at Wrestlemania, WWE kept Ric Flair around to do promotional work for the company. WWE would fly Ric Flair around the country to be a representative for the company. When you consider his charm and his presence, there's very few people that can represent WWE like Ric Flair could. However, the legendary former NWA World Heavyweight champion wasn't thrilled about his position with the company. Greener Grass As Ric Flair entered the post wrestling phase of his career, he kept hearing whispers from other people. Those whispers were coming from promoters from all around the country wanting to book Ric Flair for special appearances. WWE, however, didn't like the idea of Ric Flair doing shows for other companies, so they kept him from making appearances. Well, those whispers started to become screams as Ric Flair realized how much money he was losing out on. There were approximately 30 NWA appearances that WWE forced him to miss out on. Those appearances could have earned him about $300,000. $300,000 is a ton of money. Most WWE stars nowadays don't even come close to making that much while working the entire year. What Now? Now that Ric Flair is free from WWE, he'll be able to pursue those opportunities from the promoters. Ric Flair reportedly has about 250 offers on the table for appearances. Even if just half of those pan out, he can make a substantial amount of money. With his online financing business shutting down, Ric Flair could definitely use the additional source of income. As far as any reports go about Ric Flair going to TNA, don't believe any of it just yet. There's still no concrete information as to what type of restrictions WWE has placed on Ric Flair's release. Since he was under a long term contract with WWE, the company could realistically put a clause in his release that prevents him from going to TNA. Until then, though, he'll more than likely make his money at special appearances around the country. In a move that is sure to disappoint wrestling fans, Mick Foley and WWE may be parting ways very soon. Mick Foley Leaving? Word broke out over the weekend that Mick Foley's contract with WWE was expiring in the next few weeks. Most wrestling fans probably expected Mick Foley to remain with WWE since he recently started his new job as the color commentator of Smackdown. Little did they know, though, that the lovable legend was seriously contemplating walking away from WWE. Mick Foley's unhappiness with the company may lead him to follow Ric Flair out the door. Source of Discontent Mick Foley's source of discontent right now lies with Vince McMahon and his overly demanding ways. As a wrestler, Mick Foley is no stranger to seeing how hands on Vince McMahon is when it comes to his company. However, that wasn't enough to prepare him for the torture that the commentators go through. You see, Vince McMahon basically barks in the ears of the commentators throughout the entire show. Considering how good Jim Ross and Mick Foley are as commentators, it's hard to understand why Vince McMahon still feels the need to do so. Pursuit of Happiness Vince McMahon and WWE definitely want to keep Mick Foley in the company. They would love for him to resign another multi year contract. However, Mick Foley has the upper hand in these negotiations. He's in the fortunate position of being able to choose whether or not he wants to work for WWE. His decision to become a color commentator was based on his desire to have some fun again in the industry. If he's not having fun, then Mick Foley will walk away from the job. What's Next? If Mick Foley decides to stay with the company, then he'll remain the color commentator for Smackdown. If he chooses to leave the company, then he may make a special appearance at Summerslam to say goodbye to the fans. After that, he can easily make good money by making various appearances on the independent wrestling circuit. While he's well past his prime, Mick Foley still has enough name value to draw considerable interest from TNA. Kennedy InjuredMr Kennedy suffered a separated shoulder while working a house show over the weekend. He'll miss a couple of weeks. Quote Link to comment

MODERATOR tamago Posted August 9, 2008 MODERATOR Share Posted August 9, 2008 Wow, daming natanggal sa WWE ngayon Big Daddy V, Nunzio, Shannon Moore, Domino, James Curtis, Braden Walker (TNA's Chris Harris), and Nick Patrick Quote Link to comment

geneticfreak
Well I don't usually post comments on the PRO-Wrestling thread. But I just wanted to post kudos to Brock Lesnar for finally showing he is a force to be reckoned with in the UFC. He finally got to make that step from the WWE into Real fighting via MMA. hitman531ph
Jonathan Coachman has debuted as a news anchor for ESPN Randy Orton is medically cleared to return to the ring Killer Kowalski suffered a massive heart attack and is in critical condition. Releases: Domino was rumored to be released the moment management decided to split him up from Deuce. Shannon Moore's release was a bit of a surprise as he's a talented performer who doesn't get into trouble. Not sure why Nick Patrick was released either since he's one of the most seasoned referees in the business. Big Daddy V was sent home to lose weight. His release likely means that he was unable to do that. Nunzio has been a bit player for quite a while now, so his release isn't as big of a surprise. James Curtis was only used occasionally, so his release wasn't a surprise either. Out of all the guys released by WWE this week, only Shannon Moore would be a strong candidate to join TNA. He had a stint with TNA prior to returning to WWE. Shannon Moore is also the most talented overall performer out of the group of recently released wrestlers. TNA has a fairly good referee crew right now, but Nick Patrick does possess more experience that most of them, so there's a chance he might be picked up. Guys like Domino, Big Daddy V, and Nunzio can pick up some shows on the independent wrestling circuit thanks to them being recognizable to WWE fans. More to Come The word going around right now is that there could be more releases coming in the next few days. Edited August 11, 2008 by hitman531ph Quote Link to comment
