OresTeS
you could be right bro...just saw an article/ news last monday Mar 31, ( Phil Star ) page 18. Same modus as I mentioned, its Metrobank again. Sir, its not that i like metrobank, as a matter of fact i hate their services and totoong puro chikahan habang nag work, mga walang ethics (yung iba). Kaya metrobank madalas kasi, you have to admit sila pa rin ang number one ngayon and most of their depositors are clients na maraming pera talaga. Kaya dun nag pupunta ang mga holdaper.... Pero just the same... ASAR PA RIN AKO SA METROBANK!!!! Edited May 30, 2008 by OresTeS Quote Link to comment
griftertm
BDO's queuing system is the worst. They make you wait forty minutes and they can't even give you a chair! Their only saving grace is that they're open until 5:30 pm since I like to do my banking later in the day. Quote Link to comment
Guest lustfortravel
i think most banks have been trying to outdo each other in terms of size that they forget the most important person in their business - the customer. the service has deteriorated in most of the major banks. i also believe it has something to do with the quality of employees they currently have. the younger ones have no loyalty to speak of; they are looking after their own interests instead of looking after the customer's interests. they don't know the meaning of customer service anymore. for me, the lousiest bank is banco de oro and i rue the day they bought equitable pcib . i used to adore my equitable visa credit card ( no hassles, no problems) but lately, since it was changed to bdo, i have ambivalent feelings about the quality of customer service they provide nowadays. I will never forget the lesson hammered to me by one of my mestizo bosses when I was in BPI. "80% of our income is provided by the top 20% of our clients (the infamous 80/20 rule). So who should you take care of? It's bottomline iho, always look at the bottomline." Quote Link to comment

Have you seen fastfood crew when they are swamped during peaktime? A teller's life is much like that. Especially universal tellers (they do cash/check deposits, withdrawals, bills payment, FCDU, applications for MCs, drafts, telex, signature verification etc.) and they can't afford to make mistakes while doing it all quickly. And most of them do it on minimum industry wages. Add to that the fact that banks are loathe to put additional tellers. Sometimes I can't blame them if they can't radiate sunny dispositions. Just my two cents too, ma'am. Quote Link to comment
chunkyhunk
The 80/20 rule is a privilege. Those "preferred" bankers actually have money in the bank, and much like in a hotel or casino, they are given preferential status. It is something the "deserve" for putting in all that money. I wouldn't discount the regular depositors though, since they have money in the bank as well, but I think we're shooting blanks in the air here. Bank service consistency depend on a LOT of factors, one of which is payroll period and peak hours. Just a week ago, I planned to pay my Skycable bill (I have an EON card, which I forgot to replenish). I was all set to go to MetroPoint Mall Bayad center, when I go the hairbrained idea to go to MetroBank near my place. The midday sun was blazing. And when I got there, the line was long. So I went to BDO a few blocks away. I got there, the line was long, and there was only ONE teller. I was there for 15 minutes and the line hardly moved. So I decided to go back to my original plan, and lo and behold, there were no lines in the bayadcenter. As for EON, someone here intimated bad customer service, which I haven't really experienced. Sure, I do wait sometimes, but not 1.5 hours to get to a CSR. There are BDO branches that have a lot of tellers, but seemingly short lines. There are BPI branches that always seem to be full, and there are those with hardly any lines. There are banks with hardly any customers, but will process a transaction like five minutes a customer. I take note of these. so when I do go out to bank anywhere, I know specifically where to go... Quote Link to comment

In general, avoid going to banks during paydays, the last working day before a long weekend or holiday, Mondays and Fridays, and if you can't avoid these days, try going before lunch. jopoc
was in BDO MOA this afternoon transacting business. beside me was a filipina lady opening an account with them. in her signature card, she wrote japanese characters. the stupid new accounts personnel did not the signature. she said that the client should sign in her english name. duh! the BDO personnel should be taught of what a signature is. i can sign docs with drawings of hears, flowers, etc. if i want to. so what if the person signs in japanese character? === i always have bad experiences in BDO MOA. im starting to transfer my accounts there to "friendlier" BDO branches. dinamita
There's one BDO branch that has this really long queues. One time, when I withdrew some dough from my savings, it took me almost 2 hours. I was on this queue that says "Fast Lane" for single transactions. Dumaan yung Bank Manager and asked him jokingly to might as well change the signage to "Slow Lane". Sobrang tawa nung mga taong nakapila ... ha ha ha. Also, I was jolted by a loud banging dun sa gate. There's this messenger telling me that my credit card from Metrobank arrived already. I didn't know that I subscribed for another card since I already have a Visa from them. Sabi nung messenger, Mastercard naman daw 'yun. I flatly refused and sent the messenger away.
