This one's from a song that's hard to un-LSS:

I went to a cobbler

To fix a hole in my shoe

He took one look at my face

And said, "I can fix that hole in you"~Jenny Lewis, Acid Tongue

These are from Prozac Nation, a book I read many years ago. Why I read this before, I don't know.

But so glad I did.

That is all I want in life: for this pain to seem purposeful.

I mean, if you were to find a shattered mirror, find all the pieces, all the shards and all the tiny chips,

and have whatever skill and patience it took to put all that broken glass back together so that it was

complete once again, the restored mirror would still be spiderwebbed with cracks, it would still be a

useless glued version of its former self, which could show only fragmented reflections of anyone

looking into it. Some things are beyond repair. And that was me.

And one that was running in my head when I was also 20:

I don't want any more of this try, try again stuff. I just want out. I've had it. I am so tired.

I am twenty and I am already exhausted.

I was half in love with her by the time we sat down. That's the thing about girls.

Every time they do something pretty, even if they're not much to look at, or even

if they're sort of stupid, you fall half in love with them, and then you never know

where the hell you are. Girls. Jesus Christ. They can drive you crazy.

They really can.

~J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

Some people pass through your life and you never think about them again. Some you think about and wonder what ever happened to them. Some you wonder if they ever wonder what happened to you. And then there are some you wish you never had to think about again. But you do. - The Wonder Years
