Living Abroad Vs Living In The Philippines?

Recommended Posts

...YES, I WOULD GO BACK AND LIVE IN THE PHILS. IN A HEARTBEAT...KAHIT PA MAGING CITIZEN

AKO NG ADOPTING COUNTRY KO, I WOULD ALWAYS GO BACK AND EVENTUALLY RETIRE SA PINAS.

ITS JUST FINANCIAL REASONS LANG KAYA WALA AKO SA ATIN. AND IF I WOULD, MOST PROBABLY, I

WONT BE STAYING IN MANILA THAT MUCH. I WOULD BE IN THE PROVINCE/ISLANDS WHERE I

WOULD BE JUST KICKING BACK AND SOAKING UP THE SUN IN ONE OF OUR GREAT BEACHES.

Kung puwede lang, bukas na bukas din, uwi ako ng Pilipinas. Nothing beats being at home. Regardless of what people may say about the Philippines: economic depression, pollution, too much politics, corruption, lack of opportunity, it doesn't really matter. This is where I really belong. I still feel that I'm supposed to be in the Philippines, this is where I'm needed the most and the only place where I can really be happy trying to make a difference. Ang daming dapat gawin. And I will just be more than glad to do what's asked of me. Sa Pilipinas: Dito ako kailangan at dito ako masaya.

when i was a kid & going on holiday to philippines i didnt wanna go back home to australia, but now i love it there as a holiday but to live there forever not now maybe when im old and retired got huge money under my belt but then i cant get my pension if i move hahaha...

but in serious thought its fun there the gimmicks and outings are different to australia the social life is fun, however after i stay there for a month or two it does get boring since i dont have a life there nor on going income stuff like that...plus my career is going good here, i doubt i'd find a job there equalling my income & position without doing a entrance exam or something...

I would go back home in a heartbeat. However, until such time as I would have a decent income in the Philippines (min. US$2,000/mo) to enjoy myself, I have to live and work in the USA for a living. Work hard and save for 11 months, then go back for 3 weeks and blow it all away.....sigh.

I guess popular opinion...largely regardless of nationality...would be that people would like to go back to their home country.

I'm not Pinoy. But I love it here. The food, the people, the culture. But at the end of the day...no matter how much I love the place...theres always an intangible "something" missing here.

But at the moment, Im young, flexible and completely enthusiastic about new places, people and experiences. So I explore on! :)

I'm planning to go back home after 25 years in the States.

I plan to just live off my investments, play golf daily and just do gimmicks w/ the barkada once in a while.

The Philippines is a great country to live in as long as may bala ka.  :thumbsupsmiley:

TOTOO YAN BROTHER. ONCE MAY IPON AND IF I COULD VERY MUCH HANDLE MY FINANCES

NA...UUWI NA KO, MAS MASAYA SA ATIN. DONT MIND LEAVING MICKEY MOUSE BEHIND.

yes, i want to go back home but possibly after i save some money for my retirement.di ko naman gaano namimiss 'pinas kasi at least every 2 months, andyan ako for business trip.sometimes, if my schedule permits, we spend our christmas there.i suggest that as long as you can work outside of the philippines, do so, save money and move back home later to which all pinoys prefer.

I am considering attending AIM's Masters in Management program (11 month program). Lately, I feel that I missed out on something. My family immigrated to the California when I was 11. California is home but I'd like to spend a full year in the Philippines as an adult. It's sort of an itch that I need to scratch.
