Hi MTC Moolah Experts!

Since college, nadidinig ko na itong IPOs. Interesado ako dito, kaso noong panahong iyon (ang sikat yata na IPO that time is Petron), hindi kaya ng allowance ko to get this. Ngayon may konti na akong pangsunog, pinag-iisipan ko kung paano maging passive investor.

Kung mayroon naman kayong tips on IPOs, I would really appreciate some info para ma-break in man lang ako sa raket na ito.

I'll post this IPO info I got from RCBC. I think it's about First Gen's IPO. Baka pwedeng i-case study natin...

Questions:

1. Where do I need to go to buy shares?

2. What are the extra charges to look out for?

3. Sabi dito, ang Offer Price ay P51.00 to P62.00 per Offer Share. So ano talaga ang presyo?

4. How do I redeem my investment? May lock-in period ba?

5. Lahat ba ng IPOs OK pasukan?

Thanks.  :)

i seriously would not hype much about this stock as a majority of Lopez-owned stocks are falling.. also Meralco is also having some problems with the government.... but to each his own...its your money

anyways..

Pare,

I'm just citing First Gen as case study. But it does not follow na kukuha ako nito. Actually, I'm setting my sights on GMA dahil baka this na sila mag IPO. Gusto ko sana ready ako once GMA goes public. Balita ko din Robina will go public with its new capitalization needs.

Kaso nga, ignarante ako how IPO works. I'm sure other members would also appreciate to know a thing or two about this. So ire-raise ko ulit yung mga tanong ko:

1. Where do I need to go to buy shares?

2. What are the extra charges to look out for?

3. Citing, for sample purposes, the case of First Gen na may Offer Price P51.00 to P62.00 per Offer Share, ano talaga ang presyo nito?

4. How do I redeem my investment? May lock-in period ba?

5. Lahat ba ng IPOs OK pasukan?

6. When is a good time to get in and bail out, just in time for grate piece of the action?

Thanks pare.

For the newbies in the stock market, why won't you buy some bonds to start your investing. I quoted here an FAQ about small denominated bonds or SDTs. ... Further, SDT-Bonds has a fixed coupon rate of 13.625% per annum, paid quarterly. .. An investor would need at least the minimum amount of investment which is Php 5,000.00.

:boo:

sounds like a slow and complicated way to make money bro.

medyo off-topic pero me friend ako managed to triple his P 6,000 in two weeks buying what we jokingly called are ARROVO notes.

yung mga supposedly accidentally misprinted na peso bills. apparently a lot of people out there are willing to pay up to P 500 for a P 100 bill with a misspelled signature. at the very least ,whatever happens you will always have the face value of your bills. zero risks, aside from the possibility of accidentally spending it.

( and i'm sure those bills are going to be worth more once , and if, arrovo gets ousted or whatever ) hehe

Stock market is good for investment. HOWEVER you must be careful for what Company you are going to be involved.

Remember, if you buy the stocks of the said company, you are a part owner of the said company, so any issue arise from said company will affect you because of your investment.

Like me I promote ABS-CBN stocks, because I have stock interest in this company

what is the best stock to purchase right now in the philippines.  Looks like

the stock market is going to perform much better than 2005.  Anyway 2005

is a terrible year.  it cannot get any worse

Actually, 2005 wasn't that terrible a year. I've seen worse. In 2001, for instance, the composite index went below 1000 following the US invasion of Afghanistan. I had to wait months to recover my investment. Want to know good stocks? A good bet would be holding companies. But study their 12-month performance very carefully. If you can get a 24-month performance, better yet. If you're into speculation, you don't want to buy a stock that already seems to have peaked. Blue chips such as San Miguel and PLDT would also be good, whether you're into speculation or growth. There are also stocks that very seldom move (eg. Jolibee), but they would do well if you're into growth. As for banks, they're so unpredictable. A simple report on the level of bad debt, and the stock could fall.

As for 2006, the stock market may become more volatile because of the political situation. Over the past few months, we've had some kind of a holiday truce. That kept the market stable, in a way.
