In my 27 years of trading stocks, I believe its better to buy a stock after the ex date. The stock price dips at that time and you can buy more stocks as compared to buying stocks before the ex date. The stockmarket is a little bit shaky in the present administration. Even stocks fall so fast through its price support level that sometimes you can't cut your losses even at 2-5% range only.

For those who are interested, I suggest you learn technical analysis. It will help in your decision making.

My stocks SMB, SM,TFHI, Megaworld, Empire East, BDO, MPI, PLDT, Globe, Vista, and DMCI, and Petron.

Buy books regarding trading and stock market. Try reading the trading code by jason cam. It can help you start in Stock trading. And good luck. Not all traders become rich. So be careful on "playing in the stock market." ;)

I have very little position in the stock market these days. Only IPO of WLCON. It's doing well so far though too early to tell the resiliency of that stock. I'm studying the forex market nowadays. However, stock market is easier due to its upward bias and no shorting.

If you wanna play with stocks, these are the standard books for many years:

The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham (mentor of Warren Buffett). This is the bible of value investing using purely fundamentals.

How To Make Money In Stocks by William O'Neil (mentor of David Ryan). This is the bible of growth investing using both fundamentals & technicals.

Market Wizards by Jack Schwager. This is the bible that inspired a generation of traders & money managers.

There are seminars being held by some certified financial advisers and brokerage firms. I believe Bo Sanchez has a website on stock investing. You can either attend a seminar or read books. You can read the book entitled chupitero sold by a bookstore on the 5th floor of SM Mega Mall. This will give you a glimpse of how the Philippine Stock Market works and what affects it. There is also a series of books by Marvin Germo which can guide you in your initial phases of your stock trading growth.

I prefer reading local books as compared to foreign ones because most local books had studied and researched on the Philippine Market setting. Market modifiers abroad may not affect us the same way it does abroad.

Advise to those who would like to enter the stockMarket, study first and don't rely on heavily on recommendations by your broker. Take everything with a grain of salt and develop your own stock market goal checklist to maximize your profit.

For me I take a look at the company data EPS and PE ratio and make an analysis of the current government directions, possible environmenta/societal sentiments and sustainability.

Ito ung gusto kong matutunan. Parang casino din ba ang stock market sugal din ba. :)

basically BUY and SELL .

may nakita kang murang kotse, 100k, binili mo.. feel mo kasi dapat nasa 120k yun...

maya-maya, may naghahanap ng ganun na kotse, gusto nya bilhin ng 110k .. so ginawa mo, nag- 'match' ka sa gusto nyang 110k

kumita ka ng 10k!

all this in an automated manner with all the security and policies in effect to safeguard investors
