This is where the lancer became famous for. The Celeste Lancer coupe.

Many bought feeling to the Knight Rider. This is in the late 70s and early 80s.

I remember the Celeste. I had one brand new for 3 months in 1977. It had that lousy Astron 80 engine with the balance shafts that liked to overheat in traffic, and had no balls on the highway. After getting in and out of Diamond Motors for 7 times without fixing the overheating, after the changed the radiators 3 times, and aftr they offered to change the engine to the older, more reliable Saturn engine, I told them to give me my money back.

I got a Ford Escort RS 2000 instead.

bro the root word of "classic" is class. so the pre-requisite is it's got to be maintained to its original self or production finish, except of course for items that need replacement out of its normal cycle, such as tires, alternator, etc. this goes without saying that the car should be functioning properly.

beyond this pre-req, the definition of what makes a car classic becomes vague, personal and subjective.

BMW 320i Touring Year 1989. Will post pics later.

Just had i repainted by Route 66, installed new radiator, fuel pumps and relays, shocks and all the rubbers in the suspension, and a host of other stuff.

This 20 year old car actually handles much better than my brand new cars. Gobbles up humps and potholes as if they werent there. Cornering is fantastic!

Downside is all the electricals are acting up intermittently. Hey, you have to admire machineries and solid state electrical devices that works this long.
