rainnel
People, Buying High Octane Gasoline is just a waste of your hard earned money! Gas stations sell 95 to 96 Octane for the high end expensive blends, and 91 to 93 Octane for the regular blend. Do you know how they blend gasoline here in the Philippines? They mix a certain amount of high octane, say 98 octane gasoline with a calculated amount of low octane, say 87 octane in a huge storage tank, to come up with 91 octane blend, 95 octane blend. However, this method of blending is not very precise. So what they do is they blend it at a little higher octane rating to make sure the product meets the advertised specifications. For example, a 93 octane blend may have been deliberately blended at 94 to allow for blending errors and octane deterioration. So if you buy the cheaper 93 octane, you may actually be getting 94 octane, which is not too different from the more expensive 95. Now, almost all cars here will work just fine between with 87 to 91 octane gasoline. All those who claim that their engine performance goes down if they load up with the lower octane fuel - - - it's probably just psychological reaction. There's no logical proof to that. machizmoz
Petron Extra Unleaded - Shell Unleaded - Caltex Silver (1st, 2nd, 3rd choices). Di na ko nagkakarga other than these 3. Pero pag long drive, (panghataw sa NLEX or SLEX) Petron Blaze or Caltex Gold to clear out carbon deposits Quote Link to comment
