What Has Love Taught You Lately?

Recommended Posts

Love has taught me to be open and accepting. That despite of who and what we are, in our core, we’re just all looking for love -- be it a passionate encounter with someone, friendship, connection, or just looking for somebody to understand us, especially in this fast-paced world we lived in.

Love has also taught me that we always have the capacity to love more. That our hearts are never really full. There’s always that somebody that will come into our lives and makes us realize that there’s always room in our hearts for more.

And love cannot be quantified. There’s nobody we love more than anybody else. Love simply is. Our hearts break the same way it does over and over again. It’s just that, we just learn how to deal with it faster. The older we get, the easier it gets to move on not because we love people less, but because we’ve just learned how to deal with it. The pain is not lessened, the grief not shallow. It’s still the same. We have just learned how to deal with it.

Love has taught me to be understanding. Nobody goes through life whole -- a part of us always gets lost in the process of knowing ourselves and it is love who patches us back together. Love has this amazing power of making us feel whole and alive despite the our obligations and responsibilities. To love is to understand that you are loving a living, breathing person like yourself.

To love somebody, truly and deeply, requires that you let love flow. The feeling, the emotions, the passion is real. You just have to believe and trust in it.
