rcko21
Ang taas ng SGPT ko......... 80 IU/L helllllllllpppppppp! complete ang vaccination ko sa hep b.....with booster pa! hindi ako umiinum ng alcoholic drinks... mataba ako..... A high SGPT doesn't literally mean you have a liver disease especillay if the SPGT are below 4 times the upper limit of normal. Always correlate this with a complete clinical history for any liver disease, medical intake, muscle d/o, thyroid d/o.. and the list goes on. If you dont feel anything unusual then most probably its nothing to worry about. Why did you take this test in the first place? "tulo" nagtatake ako ng antibiotic - amoxcillin 500mg once a day - treatment ko for 10 days, ok na ba antibiotic for "tulo"Do a little homework.google up "urethritis" , "chlamydia", and "gonnorhea" Quote Link to comment

wizard23
hi mtc docs. pa advise naman. i took up a blood test the other day and here are the results (i'm interested to know whetheri'm officially a diabetic) glucose FBS * - 69 MG/DL REF VALUE 75-115 2 hours OGTT - 4.11 mmol/L REF VALUE less than 8.30 HBAIC * - 7.8% REF VALUE 4.20 - 6.20% Does this make me a diabetic or is there a way to lower my HBAIC? Will see a family med and an internist but I would like to know your inputs as well. Thanks for the advice. Quote Link to comment
rcko21
You are most probably diabetic. You can lower your A1C by lifestyle modification and DM drugs. Criteria given by the American diabetes association1. Symptoms of diabetes and a casual plasma glucose 200 mg/dl (11.1 mmol/l). Casual is defined as any time of day without regard to time since last meal. The classic symptoms of diabetes include polyuria, polydipsia, and unexplained weight loss. or 2. FPG 126 mg/dl (7.0 mmol/l). Fasting is defined as no caloric intake for at least 8 hours. or 3. 2-h plasma glucose 200mg/dl (11.1 mmol/l) during an OGTT. The test should be performed as described by the World Health Organization, using a glucose load containing the equivalent of 75 g anhydrous glucose dissolved in water or The section “Diagnosis of diabetes” hasbeen revised to include the use of A1C to diagnose diabetes, with a cut point of 6.5%. ADA 2010 revision the last requirement is not yet a standard but many clinicians have started using it. Please approach an endocrinologist to diagnose you properly Edited May 29, 2010 by rcko21 Quote Link to comment
mwah
^^^^ Just a note about using HBA1c as one of the criteria in the diagnosis of Diabetes: the test should be performed using a method that conforms to the NGSP and standardized to the DCCT assay. At present, there are only 2 machines that conforms to that standard: one is in PGH and the other one is in Manila Doctors, if I remember correctly. In the absence of classic symptoms of hyperglycemia or high blood sugar such as weight loss, increased thirst, appetite or frequent urination, or if you don't have any family history of diabetes, then you just have to do your yearly screening for diabetes. You can also start on a diet that's low carbohydrate, go easy on the simple sugars and start on a regular exercise regimen. Hope this helps. Quote Link to comment

HardOn
Hi Mtc doctors, Pa-advise naman. un brother ko may nararamdaman na nakirot sa tagiliran ng katawan nya. sa bandang baba. sometimes sa left and sometimes sa right daw. WHen he checked with his doctor, pina-urine test sya at ang findings is kidney stone. binigyan sya ng atibiotic for a week and then pina ultrasound ang kidney nya. Sa ultrasound walang nakitang kidney stone. pero ng pina urine test uli sya, may mga crystal na nakita. Sabi ng doctor nya lumalabas na raw un mga bato so he still needs to take up allopurinol llanol and sodium ascorbate for 3 months. But according to him, up to now, may nararamdaman pa rin syang nakirot. although hindi naman daw masakit na masakit. possible kaya na meron ibang problem aside sa kidney stone? And lagi ring nangangalay ang mga hita nya. related kaya yun dun sa nakirot sa kanya? 2 years ago, he took up boxing classes. at the end of every class, may cool down activity sila wherein binabaksakan daw ng bola yung gailiran ng katawan nya. Is it possible that that activity might have caused damage inside his body? Please advice. Thanks so much Quote Link to comment

Haeomphilus aegypticus may cause bacterial conjunctivitis or sore eyes. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is more related to eye infections from using contact lens. Quote Link to comment

Possible na may ibang problema kanya na hindi related sa findings sa kanya earlier. Please advise him to have a follow-up with his doctor para ma-assess yung nararamdaman nya. Quote Link to comment
