question po...

i sprained (rolled in) my ankle six weeks ago.

did R.I.C.E. on the first 24 hours, then i went to the doctor the following day. i had to because this is the worst sprained ankle i had in my whole life... i couldn't even put a little pressure on it.

x-ray was clean and doctor put cast on it after 2 more days. doctor said that the swelling was too much and he wanted it a little smaller before molding the cast on my ankle.

had the cast for less than two weeks because it was irritating me a lot!

i can walk properly now and move my ankle in any directions (stretching exercises), but there's still a small bump around my outer ankle.

i wanna start playing basketball or at least jogging again soon. am i good to go? or should i start worrying already? do i need to visit my doctor again?

thanks guys!

if it's a really bad sprain then there could have been a partial tear of the tendon... you might consider trying starting with activities and exercises which aren't that heavy on the ankles. try some walking in the pool or cycling first. 6 weeks is okay for a mild sprain which is essentially just a stretch of your tendons/ligaments but a partial tear would take longer to heal.

longer to heal... does that mean that it'll heal by itself? no need for operation?

its been 6-7weeks already since the accident, but there is still small bump on my outer ankle. i can walk properly now without pain and i can stretch it any direction with very minimal pain. what's weird is that there's this funny feeling whenever i'm stretching/rotating my ankle (usual stretching routine for ankles - clockwise and counter clockwise with your toes on the ground and your heel suspended in the air).

thanks for your reply dude! i appreciate it!

yup, it'll probably heal by itself. though if you feel any instability on it when you play, especially if you play competitively/semi-competitively, you should really get the opinion of a sports medicine specialist. the small bump is most probably part of the healing tendon...

Your quarrel with your partner has nothing to do with your laboratory results. The only thing wrong with the results is the slightly elevated cholesterol level, all things seem normal. The cholesterol level is a result of your diet and possibly your genes. Since it is near the border of normal, diet and lifestyle modification will probably put things back to normal. There is no cause of immediate alarm.

O sige, awayin mo na Girlfriend mo ulit. Haha!

any person experience allergy to baby oil for lubricant?

baby oil is not recommended lubricant , it may lead to yeast infection for your partner and yes some person/s are allergic to it. if you have no choice but to use baby oil, then may i suggest that you wash your organ with soap and water after the deed or better yet use water based lubricant to be safe.

good day to you sir ! how i wish there is someone who can invent a machine that can "REALLY" remove or lessen saggy skin... unfortunately there is none contrary to all the "media hype" of drs so and so. if there is a machine that can effectively remove these sagging skin, then you'll probably be meeting let's say 80 yrs old person looking like 30 0r 40 yrs old.... the only way to remove the sagging skin from your belly is by surgery (for now). but if you have the money to "waste" then by all means you can try some of the machine and let us know if it is effective or not.

uhmm lately ang nakikita kong lumalabas sakin na sperm eh konti na lang ung white colored liquid puro clear na lang nalabas ibig sabihin nun low ang sperm count ko at mahirap na makabuntis?

maybe you are using it too frequently, try to abstain for a couple of days and see what happens....

you must have it analyze in the lab to know if you have low sperm count... i think 3 days to 5 days abstinence is needed before you collect your sperm for analysis....

Question lang po...

whats the best thing to do kapag may sore eyes?

any suggestions? do's and dont's? or perhaps cure?

Thanks In Advance...

best thing to do is to have it check right away(so you will know if it's caused by viral/bacterial/foreign body/etc.....)

don't/avoid scratching your eyes, don't use your hanky to wipe your eyes use disposable napkins or tissue paper, wash your hands with soap and water after touching your eyes.....

Hello medical peeps,

just wanted to ask a very urgen question needing urgent answer. My wife had her ultrasound last tuesday to see if she really is pregnant and kung buhay yung bata.

After the routine pinakita sa akin na yung bata is halos 2 months an yung babay based sa ultrasound (1 month and 1 week i think!) resulta nung ultrasound revealed a fetus PERO alang yolk sac at alang heart beat!

My questions are, What are the chances of survival?? Consequences? Alternatives and choices? Please medical peeps, I badly need an accurate answer I could depend on...

Thank you!

Lancelot,

What is the size of the gestational sac? what is the length of the fetal pole?

The yolk sac begins to be seen on ultrasound by the 5th week of pregnancy. This is different from the gestational sac which is seen earlier. If the yolk sac cannot be visualized at a time that the gestational sac has grown more than 12 mm, then the chances for fetal viability is less.

With regards to the fetal heart beat, if it is not yet appreciated at a time that the fetal pole is greater than 4mm, then the chances for a viable fetus is also less.

I suggest you confer this with your obstetrician.

Easy.
